At any one time, and if they're all playing, I suspect that Doyle will start from bench and Jolly and Spida on the ground. Spida fwd and them rotating.

The bonus of having another tall marking fwd in either Spida or Doyle will be far to big a temptation for us not to use them in this way. As has been stated before, if we get a tall marking option fwd, BBBH will be down to single opponent... Here comes the Coleman!
I think I made this point somewhere before, but I believe we should try to have all three on the ground at the same time. That is, split the ground into defence, middle and forward and place one in each area. By allocating a third of the ground to each there is no need to rest them and you could fill up the bench with runners.

Then increase the focus on creating stoppages to win the ball.

There is no other team in the league with our ruck power and no other team better than us at stoppages. It's only weakness is having an overall team that is slightly slower, but if you are substituting a slower player to begin with, the risk is minimised.

If we don't see this strategy at some time early when all are fit I will me a monkey's extended family member.

      Once or twice removed??
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I don't think you can remove extended family. Certainly those that are the brother of one of your parents.

Spida makes reference to this himself in the Fox Story

"I always hark back to Port Adelaide when they played (Brendon) Lade, (Matthew) Primus and (Dean) Brogan. We played them in Adelaide one day and we had no hope, they were laughing at us," Everitt said.
I can see this working at the SCG.
Will it translate to the bigger grounds where we are playing a hard running team (Dogs, Eagles, Port Adelaide)?
Be interesting to see at any rate.

Seriously tho' he was playing for the Hawks and we all enjoy a giggle at times.

            Agree.

Without a doubt (providing they all stay fit & available), we will have the dominant ruck team in the comp. We'll have three specialist ruckmen on the ground with a few other pinch hitters (LRT, Hall in the fwd line, and Super Ted).

With this amount of "tap" and "ruck" power, we should absolutely dominate the bounces.

It's all very good to have all the ruck power in the world ...

Hope they're teaching these boys how to accept a "directioned" tap down (as is Spida's style), as opposed to "oh look, we just happened to get the ball out".

2 goals come to mind , Davis, last 3 seconds on SF 2005. Buchanan, GF 4th qrtr GF 2005.

I think we may see a change of style given the man who coached the centre players is now at a nother team and that we now have arguably the best tap ruckman in the league in our team.

C'mon GS14 ... both of those scenarios were just sheer good luck!! Davis didn't have time to think ... instinctively, he just kicked it and hoped for the best (lucky us, eh?).
I should think we'll see a change of style ... Spida is a totally different ballgame compared to Ball, Jolly or Doyle. Having arguably the rest tap ruckman in the league means jack @@@@ when the rovers are watching the ground or their opponents instead of Spida's hand to see where the tap is coming from (and who it's going to).

Tell me Sydney aren't sloppy around the rucking comps?
We rarely get a clean ball get. That's what I'm hoping will change with Spida aboard.

I don't think the actual job description of "rover" exists anymore. I think there are only three size categories of player - ruckman, target (forward and defence) and runner.
