Disliking/dodging responsibility? I don't think so. I think we are watching a gifted administrator at work.
Narcissism? I don't think so either, except for the healthy variety. From my admittedly limited perspective Roos seems to need less narcissistic replenishment than most people; I see him making hard choices (can pull people into line when required) and I can't say I've ever seen him fishing for compliments in any of the public statements I've seen. I think we need to be careful about making amateur diagnosis outside the consulting room.

Re what flathead tim has said - I have never bitched or whined about Roos. I have said that I think he is arrogant, that he does not like to take responsibility (particularly when he makes mistakes) and that he reacts very strangely to criticism, usually an over reaction. I also did not like his public comments in relation to the GF loss. What I consider to be most starnge is the way that any negative discussion of Roos attracts so muchb attention. He is considered great because of what he has achieved. By his own words it aint much - it's only a game after all...

I thought it was both him and the leadership group. All the negative discussion about Roos @@@@es swans supporters off because he has brought stability and that winning fealing to the club, which we havnt had much off to be honest. As Roos said "its only a game after all" which is true.As ROK said "the sun will still come up tomorrow and iv'e had worse things happen"Your right tho he doesnt like criticism but hey do any of us.

Sure he coached us to a Premiership and was great running off half back in '96 but that doesn't alter the fact that he has Platinum level tickets on himself and talks @@@@.

              Is that the case?

I think most of the media fluff that is issued by the Swans is taken by most to be just that. The "defence" of Roos is more a reaction to the sometimes vitriolic comments against him posted by some members of this board by those who don't understand where those interpretations are coming from.

And I would have thought that those who interpret what others say with suspicion or vitriol are, more often than not, the same people who choose to interpret Roos' comments that way too.

I'd too have platinum tickets on myself if I had his AFL coaching record......

Yes, and we could add Adam Schneider to the list, and I dare say there are others.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yeah, one Premiership places him at the lofty heights of Mark Williams.

There is a third possibility, he is a lying bag of @@@@ -oh that was one of the reasons already given. Great guy but humility is not one of his strong suits. He probably has mirrors on his bedroom ceiling.

Yep, I like Schneids too, but he earned a rocket from Roos and took it to heart, produced in training and on field.
