Who cares about those fans. It's all about us.

In the early years whn I first moved to Melb. The swans were on every(?) second Sunday, or playing in Melb. The the rest of the ratbag I/S teams just screwed everything up!!

hawthorn dont have 20 to 30,000 fans in Adelaide and i wouldn't think there would be to many adelaide fans in Perth.

Has the announcement been made yet?

Can't wait to see the actual realities of the agreement.

Talk on radio this morning that the agreement was much more relaxed than the 9/10/Foxtel one, and Free to Air is able to replay any Foxtel match 2 hours after it has been completed, be good to see whether this is a reality or not.

Do you think they might have realised how bad it was for Melbourne members, and pulled out ?

Maybe the AFL have asked that if anyone who does not want to pay subscription, can get it free.

                      Here are the details:

The mystery about the 1pm Swans games looks like its still a mystery.

                        In a nutshell......

New South Wales & ACT: Between two and four matches live or near-live on Seven and Ten per week and five or six matches per week live on Foxtel. All Swans games will be shown live, or near-live on free-to-air TV. Friday night matches will be live across the state on Foxtel, on a one-hour delay on Seven in the ACT, Wagga, Dubbo and Northern Rivers, and from 11pm in Sydney and other parts of New South Wales. Saturday night matches involving the Swans will be shown no later that 7.30pm across all of NSW.

I think the mystery that Hammo was referring to was the report that Fox will show a 1pm game each Sunday, contrasted with 7 showing all Swans games live or near live. Given that there is usually only one early game scheduled each Sunday, and that is frequently a Swans game, will both channels land up broadcasting the Swans game? If so, not only is that a bit daft, but it also means that a non-Swans game won't get shown in Sydney.

That won't bother most of us - since those of us who live in Sydney will probably be at the game, and in any case wouldn't be so interested in non-Swans games. But does seem to be a strange outcome, nonetheless. Can certainly see an end to early Sunday games in both Sydney and Brisbane from 2008 onwards.

Thanks Liz, I should have made myself clearer.

                            Here's my take:

                            * Foxtel will be the "host" broadcaster of the 1pm matches

                            * When the Swans play it will be shown live in Sydney on 7 (maybe 10?).

                            * Seven's 3pm game in Melbourne will be the afternoon match played in Melbourne on delay.

                            * Would this mean the v8's be shown on 3 hour delay in Sydney, not that many would care?? If so could that mean a return of the dreaded 12.30 start?

                            * Sydney viewers may not get to see the Sunday afternoon Melbourne match until much later that night.

                              Hammo,

Think you'll find that we'll still get the non-swans game if the swans aren't playing on the Sunday. So if Swans play on the Sunday, that's the game we get, if they play Saturday (Yes we all know we don't get damn Friday nghts ) we get the other game of the day that 7 has.

Yes, that would make sense. According to their ASX release, teh full schedule has been released for the first 6 rounds.

I can't find it yet but I imagine it answers all our questions.
