It must be football season if Fairfax dinosaur Roy Masters is back at his typewriter slagging off the AFL at every opportunity.

Nothing much of interest here except a few beer-swilling league executives bemoaning the fact that free to air won't be screening all 8 games of the round so NRL can get one up on the AFL.

I did that a few years ago and the reply from the AFL?

Was something along the lines of..... "We understand that Melbourne based Swans supporters are a very important part of the AFL and we will keep your complaints about the number of Swans games that Melb. based supporters are unable to see when the TV rights are up for renewal, in both of the areas - radio and FTA"

That definitely applies for 1 child
And definitely for 2 children also.
          Almost certainly for 3
          Probably for 4
          Pushing it for 5 children
          6.......????? not all that likely.........

Ironically she usually waits in anticipation for a me to view a Swans victory, as the "celebration" afterwards is the highlight of having me watch football for her.

So it will have to be "non-seeing-Swans-victory-sex"

she shouldn't complain thought, better than nothing......

                Actually, no.

When I arrived home at 4am or so, I was very tired and extremely drunk.

It was the week after that when she got sore

where have they got the idea that the afl boasts that it "dominates the nation"? i've never heard any such plain untruth spoken by anyone in afl circles. it is well known that nrl rates well above alf in sydney and brisbane and in most of the respective states. what is true, however, is that afl beats nrl in national totals and in particular in grand finals. i also believe that afl is penetrating traditional nrl markets better than nrl is invading afl turf but neither is a major threat to the other's long-term viability (we have soccer and rugby for that)

sounds like insecurity from the nrl to me.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

THE AFL HAS TO FORCE THE COMMERCIAL NETWORKS TO TELEVISE AFL IN NON AFL MARKETS AS PART OF THE LICENCE DEAL.

My ideal world would have the FTA stations running games (other than Sydney ones) into the Sydney market (albeit late at night if need be).
My ideal world also wouldn't have infomercials.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
