Nah, they're a pack of dirty criminals.
Bring back capital punishment!!
I just re-read what I wrote in the wee hours of this morning ... if Uncle Andrew isn't going to step in until due process has taken place, and wan-Kerr gets a hearing date in August ... why does the tool get the play the entire season before getting B&B on Her Majesty? It's as if the AFL are condoning his bad behaviour off-field. Uncle Andrew has no balls? The "AFL" should step in right now and suspend wan-Kerr ... he's brought the game into disrepute. It wouldn't have gotten this far in the other codes.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
It wouldnt have gotten this far in other codes? Have you not been watching the news Annie? Wes Naquima from St George Illawarra in the NRL is facing 2 days a week in periodic detention for being caught driving with out a license 4 times and also for an assault charge and his club and the NRL have done nothing.
Why? Becasue if the club sacks these players that they have developed over the years and used valuable draft picks for, for these discretions then someone else will just pick them up for nothing.
I think most swans supporters would jump at the chance to have Daniel Kerr in the red and white.

I haven't watched news for ages (especially the thugby league news) - I've been on holidays.
If Aussies didn't hold their sportsmen in such regard (and in turn make them convenient role models for the children), this wouldn't be such an issue.
Seeings these people are role models (whether we like it or not), ALL codes have to have the balls to say - if you get charged with a criminal offence, that should be an instant suspension from the GAME until your case is heard. If you are found guilty of that crime, you are permanently suspended from playing grade. Do you think that if we already had a rule like that, it would've stopped someone like (serial offender) wan-Kerr jumping on the back of a taxi, ripping off the aerial and belting the driver with it? I doubt it - but for some it may be a deterrent.
By banning them from GRADE, it will stop clubs like the West Coast Criminals from putting their badboys into the WAFL for a few weeks, wait till the furore dies down, then bring them back as it nothing has happened.
It sends out the wrong vibe.
I don't care how good a player wan-Kerr is ... I certainly wouldn't welcome him to the club. I fully hated Davis when the little showpony played at the Pies, now I just tolerate him because I'm not the one who makes the decisions on who plays and who doesn't for our team.

Would this be such a discussed topic if it were another club involved?
At least the eagles managed to stay out of the betting scandal.
I don't think an illegal activity (assaulting another person) can be compared to a second activity which is legal to the vast majority of the community.
Both players have made errors of judgement, but which would you consider the more serious?
The main irritation (for me at any rate) is the "boys will be boys" attitude the WC administration have with the indiscretions of some players. While they may not be actively cultivating a "criminal" culture, they have certainly sent the message that they are willing to set the penalty according to the player's status within the team.

Exactly. Every club has its share of stupid off-field behaviour from players but the Eagles have handled Cousins and Kerr very poorly. The chairman of the board said "Daniel ... hasn't got many chances left" (Source) which means that Kerr still has more than one chance left! He may as well have said "Even if Kerr breaks the law again, we are going to ignore it a few more times".

Annie, disagree entirely with this comment.
EVERYONE is entitled to the presumption of innocence, until proven guilty.... NO MATTER WHAT....

Oh please....
1. This is a Swans fan site. Expect a bit of parochialism.
2. Yeah. Big betting scandals around the Swans.
3. No she hasn't gotten over it. In fact, she's still drunk from the 2005 grand final win.
4. Of course it would. Especially if it was Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon or eithe rof the Adelaide teams (We hate them too).
