Not a bad result, on reflection. By the sound of it, good hard competitive game, gives the players another game to shake out those off-season cobwebs, with minimal fallout.

Winning's always nice, but I will take the result if we didn't get any injuries.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Lol it's not going to make a differece, though i'm glad we showed some fight in a game that is supposedly not important.

Like the final score actually means anything. All I want to know is who played well, particularly non seniors, and did we cop any injuries.

Warm is an understatement. Its stinking hot still at 9.45pm. It felt weird watching the NRL game with a fan blowing on me.

Not that i want injuries but last week's hysterics about Barry Hall were very entertaining and certainly livened up a dull practise match.

                            Just home from the game

Very hot and very very still.

Swans only really played one quarter of football, the 3rd. Very sluggish in the first half and we looked really slow.

Going through the motions kind of game and Port looked more switched on.

Having seen all the practice games bar one I have been a little disappointed in the newbies accept for flipper. He is the only one who looks like he should be out there. I think Vogels is a fish out of water down back and is not the answer as he is too slow and does not kick well enough. Tonight Moore and Schmidt did little. Not sure what happened but the runner came and got Shaw out of the grandstand at 3Q time and he did a quick superman change and played about half the last quarter. I hope Jolly/Spider are OK. Jolly has not improved IMHO and at best will only be the number 2 ruckman to Spider. His twp goals were from frees.

                                Just got back.

1st half was woeful for us. Midfield were getting dominated by Ports quick on ballers who's skills were pretty damn good while ours was pathetic in terms of pressure and clearences. Defense struggled under ports good deliver (due to a lack of midfield pressure).

3rd Quarter got us back in the game with some good clearences from Buchanan/Kirk with Davis looking good up forward slotting 2. ROK became more prominent which helped our structure alot.

4th Quarter was neck and neck with the Swans holding on grimly to a 5 point lead. Port should of capitialised but they pretty much wanted it more in the end and kicked away to a 3 goal lead before Hall and Jolly got us back to a 5 point margin. Swans insanely chipped the ball around in the defensive 50 with only 3 minutes to go but when they finally got it out, Port had all the answers.
