Mine too. I thought I was still in on the knockout goal kicking comp.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Then one day they will say "If they had rushed the ball through for a behind they would have won the game!"

Crap journalism just to fill the page up.

At the time, I was not convinced that Kennelly wasn't trying to handball to Spida, who kind of threw his hands up in the air and let the ball pass thru for the rushed behind.

After watching the replay, I still believe that he may well have been handballing to Spida to buy a bit of space.

Did anybody else see it that way????

No. I've only seen the game live on TV, and at that time I thought he was rushing the behind.

Be interesting to have another look at it, though.

I'll have to leave it to someone else to check the replay - I couldn't bear to watch that game again.

To be honest I see rushed behinds as a blight on the game. What other sports gives you the chance to score points for the opposition?!
The way they fix it is that they change the rule to make it a free kick, just like they do for deliberate rushed out of bounds.

If free-kicks are given at the end of the goal square aghainst perpetrators, the practise of rushing behinds will stop almost immediately.

being a bit generous there, i still cannot fathom how we got to with in one point, that is the only so called positive thing i can take out of the match, is we played so poorly, (even when coming back) and we only lost by a point.

we only played 1-2 quarters of footy at best. and our set shots cost us, we use to be the most accurate team in the comp, now at best i reckon we are 50-50.
