I'm not sure that their lack of experience has a huge correlation with their style of play. There are plenty of players who play "flashy" even when new - the Dal Santos, Judds, Daveys, Pearces, Shermans etc. Even players like Schneider and Malceski showed elements of "flash" early in their careers.

I wasn't trying to knock that group. They are all decent players for their experience. I was just a little puzzled with the implied contrast with the Swans' blue collar midfield, as fundamentally they are similar in style to the Kirks, Abletts, Boltons of this world.

Can some explain to me why the Eski is in the back pocket?
I will be a member again when I return.

I wouldn't read too much in to the positions as listed. The Great Nick Davis is often named in the FP but plays as HFF/Wing and the closest he gets to FP is actually playing FF.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Good changes for mine. Leave Schmidt and Grundy there for an extended period please Paul.

Schmidt = stronger body than Phillips. Also want to see how he roves to Spider.

This thread is proof of how wishful thinking, the other side of the whipping boy coin has taken over RWO. How is Phillips "unlucky" to be dropped?

I agree - I thought Phillips was poor against West Coast. Hardly sighted.
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

He was unlucky in as much as most of the favourites can string together a number of bad games without getting dropped.

So you are seriously saying that a Brett Kirk should be seen along the same lines as Simon Phillips if they have a bad game?

You'd reckon a season or so would be enough.

Please clarify: Brett Kirk had a bad season? Phillips should have been picked in his stead?

This is like leading a "cow" to water.

Sanecow you don't actually think that Kirk had a bad season last year do you?

Experienced players obviously get some privileges over younger players that have yet to prove themselves.

Although, there are possibly two players that seem to continuously get games even after mediocre performances.

Anyone want to send me text updates of the Sydney game, every 10 minutes or so? i will probably miss most of it, so getting updates will atleast keep me in the loop.

                            My number is 0423109920.
