Advice Please! Round 7 v St Kilda

I'm heading down for the Saints game in May and it will be my first at Telstra Dome.

What's the best way to get decent tickets that will be in with fellow Swans fans? Really don't want to watch this in the middle of saints fans!!

Are tickets near the Swans cheersquad obtained through the club? Is it possible to get tickets for level 2 and still be with red & white?

Any advice you can give for a TD noob would be gratefully received!

(Will be taking in the collingwood v carlton game at the G earlier in the day - judging by the tickets left, could be a big crowd!!)

    Hey Pommie Swannie,

My wife and I simply bought and downloaded our tkts via www.ticketmaster.com.au

We may not be with a whole group of Swannies fan, but we managed to get row A seats on the fence near the 50m arc. I am not sure how you would go about getting specific tkts for the Swan's cheersquad though.

Just got the tkts for the Pies V Blues game as well. No matter the teams position on the ladder, they always get a big crowd.

I had the same question last year.

I took Anne's advice - GA ticket go to level 3 around bay 41, big flock of Swans fans, great view. That was the match we thumped the tiggers by 100+ points - had a ball.

        Hi Pommie Swan,

If you do want to sit on level 1 to get a close look at the game then the Swans cheersquad end will be the Bourke Street end of Telstra Dome, which takes into account Aisles 1, 2, 3, 4, 46, 47 & 48.

This is the end the Swans will run out and most of the Melbourne members will be sitting here if they elect to pay for a reserved before the game or on the night.

Will it be reserved seating. If not, just do what I do and look for a pocket of red near where you like to sit. There's always one not too far away. If it's reserved I might heed OldRoyBoys advvice myself as I'm also going down for that game. Hell, I might even see if I can join the cheer squad.

Only Essendon games are all ticketed games where you need to buy a seat beforehand.

Most of level 3 will be just GA on the night.

You may also be able to get a GA seat in the Swans section on level 1 on the night, as the Dome will give you this for the GA price (free if you are a Melbourne member), just walk up to the ticket window before the game and ask if they are doing this for the Swans section. They don't advertise it but will do it to fill the seats to make the crowd look better.

This has worked for me all times at the Dome except for the big games against Essendon & Collingwood.

              Thanks guys - much appreciated!

I think we'll go with GA tickets and head up to level 3. Our seats at the SCG are ground level, so it's always nice to get a different perspective!

That's interesting I didn't know they did that.

Yep, little known fact but I have put it on RWO a couple of times to help people out.

It only works for games where there is not going to be a capacity crowd, but I have yet to miss out on a GA ticket for level 1 for free when asking for games against Richmond, Melbourne, Carlton & St Kilda.

Just head up to the window ask if they are giving out level 1 seats in the Swans section for free.

TD Management don't like to see the bottom of the stand behind the goals empty so they do this late to fill the seats.

I was offered leve1 at level 3 GA price last year at TD for the game against Richmond. So far that's the only time out of about 7 or 8 games I've attended at TD. Front rows of level 3 are good viewing IMHO.

Since Telstra Dome opened, I have not paid for a level 1 seat (with Melbourne membership) for any games other than Essendon & Collingwood during the regular season.

I kid you not, all you need to do is ask and they will do it if the seats are not sold which is always the case expect for the two big teams.
