Our set shots at goal -

This needs a thread of its own!

Our inexplicable kicking for goal cost us badly tonight and prevented us from being closer in this match.

It came to the stage where we were lining up for a set shot and you just knew it would be a miss.

May even say that some poor execution in front of the sticks helped contribute to a premiership loss last September.

    Professional footballers kick the goals!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You mis-spelt a word. "Set" should have a "hi" in the middle instead of an "e". I'd type the word for you but I would get banned.

I didn't watch our set shots, covered my eyes and just waited for the crowd to roar after yet another miss. Quite painful

I can't believe Jolly kicked both of his.

          McVeigh 0.6 this year.
Buchanan did a weird stabby stabby action for his.
Micky O - O dear, the yips are back.

How did ever get to this point from being the most accurate team in 2003? And we were kicking them from the pockets as well.

I might get shot down for this, but i think Jolly has been one of our best players this year. He does his job most of the time, and has been a decent link man through the middle at times. Jude isn't as bad as most of the RWO community seem to think, and nor is Leo.

I think that Jolly's last 2 games have been OK. Leo is just Leo, and I love him (he does have the odd shocker though). Jude is hard at it, and wins a fair amount of it, but just wastes it so often to almost be not worth the trouble.

I know a gun Full Forward, he is playing for the Under 16's tomorrow, I am sure he would do a better job than most of out team at the moment.

They dont drop the ball straight and dont watch the ball onto their boot.

Blokes like Bolton, McVeigh and Buchanan dont even line it up and all 3 and MOL drop the ball on the outside of their boot and almost always are not directly facing the goal. If you are kicking a torp you drop it on the outside of the boot.

These are blokes are on $250,000 plus. Not good at their trade and over paid. I bet if they were paid on performance KPI's they would kick straighter.

Well, I`ve just gotten up from the lounge after sitting looking at a blank screen on the TV for the past half an hour after the game. I`ve just opened another bottle of red, and thought I`d cheer myself up by reading the RWO posts(which I knew would be colourful going by the way I feel).

It got to the stage where I`d get up to go to the dunny when one of our guys were going for a set shot. I`d come back in and look at my 8 year old son and his look to me said everything.

The last time I felt like this was the last time we played the Crows last year. But you have to admit, the Crows played magnificent footy, especially in defence.

                    AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

Gee must have downed a few reds. We missed at least 10 set shots so you must truly have had the Chinese Bladder tonight.

Well, I suppose it was in the last Qrt that I didn`t hang around to watch the kicks on goal. Normally I`d go to the outhouse during the ads, but after our kicking in the first three qrts I thought missing a set shot would be better than missing an Ad.

I'll guarantee you 90% of the shots could have hit players on the chest - they should pick someone out in the crowd. Oldest goal kicking trick in the book.

Everyone of those players can hit a bloke on the chest while running - but not hit a bloke from a set position? It is a mental thing!

Always find someone in the crowd to kick to.

Someone please remind me who our forwards coach is ... and where he would have rather been ... Is he also the kicking coach?

I can never understand why someone at this level requires a goal kicking coach. It's a pretty simple thing. There are two big sticks and two little sticks. Kick the ball between the big sticks!

Players need to take responsibility of their own crapness and work hard to rectify it.
