he is clearly struggling, he needs a week off to redeem himself.

The Stenglein case was thrown out? un-@@@@ing-believable!! So much for clamping down on charges to the head...

I'm expecting him to get off the hook, but he might need a week off like Yze in order to get into some form.

What charging incident? Are they serious? Is it the same one as the elbow?
I am absolutely gobsmacked that it even got a mention. Pathetic really. Bring in the big boys and the private jet!
Form comes from playing not from having a week off. Even I know that from my pathetic amatuer (sp?) sporting forays.

Stenglein has massive form in this form of attack too.

The Goodes situation is especially frustrating given the McVeigh attack from Bruce AND neither was deemed by the Umpires as drawing a free, YET Schneider following Davey into a stoppage.

Goodes should have been reprimanded. His actions were undisciplined and not expected of a man of his normally composed ways. The tribunal would be pleased to see this charge downgraded. I expect he will play on Saturday night.

Laughable. Meanwhile Judd escapes scrutiny for his deliberate punch on Kane Johnson's broken hand..

Not denying that he doesn't deserve the week.
But Campbell Brown almost crunched someones head into their rectum, and gets off.

What I can't work out is that Goodes gets a week for that incident and Burgoyne gets 2 weeks for an act that was downright dangerous. The inconsistencies of the match review panel are baffling.

Someone should give the match review panel and tribunal a good hip-and-shoulder.

Yeah, is a very weak challenge to get him suspended for a week...I am convinced they are trying to turn it into a netball hybrid now. I think the pro-Melbourne commentary already had him hung, drawn and quartered before the game had even finished to be honest. The commentary really annoyed me on Saturday night, it was as if they wanted Melbourne to win. I understand they want to see a good game, but puh-lease, they are apparently professional commentators who should leave their bias at the door and call the game as they see it...not start to barrack. I think I can remember another game over the weekend also where there was an 'incident' and the commentators had the guy serving 4-5 weeks already before the game had finished. It was quite possibly the Burgoyne incident actually. Oh, just a side note, how useless is the channel 7 coverage. No live games and the biggest bunch of peanuts you have ever seen doing commentary. Ricky Olarenshaw...? What a joke. He couldn't play footy, so channel 7 must have figured that he would be handy at something else...well he very well may be, but it ain't commentary.

I think Goodes absolutely deserves a week for an act like that. If it was an opposition player doing it to a Swan this board would be in an uproar.

However, the part I disagree with is not being able to downgrade for guilty plea and good record such that it is pushed below 100 points.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

                              Strike vs charge.

From what they said OTC, if he had been charged with a strike but the same other classifications, the various discounts would bring it down below 100 points. But because they have gone the charge charge, it gets a higher penalty.

If they are going to challenge it, that would seem to be the most likely option. It looks to be more of a strike to me than a charge.

I think you're probably right. A charge to me suggests a longer run and more hip and shoulder. If that occurs then I think we will get the right outcome.
