Gerard says " Paul Roos would have focussed on that at 3/4 time". Hello, how about before the game focussing on something other than running around like headless chooks. This is so not good enough. Blind freddy can see that giving away a 7 goal lead is going to make it dam hard to come back. Time for a serious analysis of pre-game preparations... or something. Something needs to be analysed - perhaps its my devotion to the Swans!! Go Kieran - you did good son!!
Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.

With the Swans, some games you think they put in a @#$%house performance through bad decision-making and poor skills, but tonight there was no excuse... the Kangas came to play, we didn't for the most of the match, but that was due to pressure. The Kangas were absolutely fantastic, especially the inspirational work in their forward line. Well done guys, you showed us what commitment is all about.
Lets face it, we haven't been playing well this year at all...and we could not get within coeee of the Eagles at the moment.
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Disappointing. First quarter cost us. That is what ultimately lost us the game. The umpires were not great but we need to have a good look at ourselves.

Great last quarter efforts by Schneider, Fosdike and JACK. I was extremely impressed with Jack. You could tell he was a first gamer, but he just would not give up. He was part of the reason we made a serious comeback in that final term and he should STAY IN THE TEAM.

We did get exposed without Kennelly however. We were just nowhere near as composed in the defensive half as we usually are. This cost us goal and ultimately it mean't that Malceski had a tough job.

I thought Richards was disappointing all night. Goodes soft. Schmidt was alright. Davis went missing. Jude Bolton MIA again.

Ablett was probably our best in the first 3 quarters.

Play the kids and take the losses? We just seemed to have no structure in the first half - and only came into the game when the Roos ran out of puff (they continued to have better skills).

I doubt if we'll do much damage this year if Baz and Goodes don't start performing for the whole game.

Reckon Spida's picked up any Brownlow votes yet?

And is Benny a better kick for goal than Schneids?

Goodes had a look and cost us a goal in the 4th qtr. Leo Barry was close to outstanding tonight. Davis spoke to the paper during the week and the leadership group decided to scuttle his 150th by not kicking it to him. How can a forward with 150 games experience have every lead ignored in a game? At one stage he ran away from the goal square and the ball went to Hall in a 1 on 3 contest.

Interesting times. Only beaten Tigers, Lions and Dees. Not the heavy weights.

I think our Barry Hall focus is stifling us a bit. He is clearly off song, which means all our forward 50 efforts are off song.

Kangaroos deserve the win and good on them. I would hope it wakes us up for next week on - but seeing they have generally done this all year, I am not confident.

These slow starts really scare me, they have cost us 1 premiership, and at least 2 games this year already. We are famous for shutting games down, I don't understand why we aren't shutting our opposition down when our offense isn't on song and finding our feet from there. It's great we got back into a position to win tonight, but with a bit of concentration in the first half, we wouldn't have been in that position at all.

Mase, feel free to include McVeigh in the list of liabilities.

It's time for me to say you were correct 4 years ago.

Yep, I think it was the Richmond game where he injured his knee, we really started to utilise our forward properly when he was off the ground. I am not saying we don't need him, we do, I just think our forward line works so much better when we don't go for him all the damn time!

And I wish he'd stop playing umpire and just get on with it.

                            glad someone else saw that.

davis could be on his own in the goal square and they still would kick to hall with 15,000 terrorists and an army tank surrounding him.

You can't tell jack from the TV, it just looked like Davis went MIA.

I'll be interested in the comments of the Melb folk when they trickle home and login to confirm his abysmal game was not his fault.

It seems obvious but if you are defending and you know where the ball is going to go 90% of the time you job has just become a lot simpler.
