Best post I've read in relation to last night's dysfunctional display for 60 minutes of footy.

hard to judge when not there. But u can see in wide screen shots davis running hard and leading screaming for the ball and the ball kicked wider to a contest or to hall and 40 defenders, he runs past players who he is a better kick for goal than (the whole team) and they dont handball it to himm yet they will handball off to others.

Maybe after all that crap which seems to happen quite a bit, he thought bugger it ill stand still for 2 minutes, or maybe he didnt want to ruin the photo

At the game you could see he was pissed off and his body language showed it.It was confirmed today to me by one of the younger players at the kids day.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

I'm not suggesting you can just stand there, you just appeared to be using an instance of players positioning themselves whilst the ball is down the other end of the ground and I think the description you gave (and the picture) is pretty standard FF/CHF behaviour. He did look like he offered up quite a few leads last night, the worst instance was probably Davis clear on a lead for a short pass which Kirk ignored to wait and then go to Hall 3 on 1.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I saw Davis leading a bit out of the goal square. I think it went to him twice - and not particularly well - and other than that the ball never went near him. Part of that was to do with atrocious I50 delivery.

everitt probably is one of the best kicks into the forward 50 which says a lot about the midfield at the moment.

IMO he average every where else last night and the only time he looked good was when he was in the forward line.

his ruckwork is pretty good. He doesnt deliver the ball that often i just mean his kicks are effective actually hitting a target.

I thought Everitt played reasonably well last night.

Anyway, on Davis, watching the game again and recalling watching live last night, he did a lot of work in the last quarter scouting packs and ball ups, but nothing seemed to go in his direction. As for passing, four times they passed it to him and each time put it on top of his head. He's not the greatest overhead mark (not many in our side are - MOL misses a lot) so delivery like that to a smallish forward is not going to reap many rewards. On one occasion MOL brought his man over, when Davis was one-on-one, to mess things up. On four other occasions he was ignored when making good leads.

It didn't appear to me that Davis had a bad attitude last night. Seemed that he didn't get a lot of game time, spent much of it in the goal square, was ignored on a lot of occasions, and wasn't able to have anything else go right. Why he didn't have much time further up the field I don't know.

Out of Everitt's 12 hit outs only 17% went to advantage.

I reckon that's because half the time the midfielders weren't watching the ruckwork.

They watch where it goes and get ready to pounce.
