Why didn't they kick it to Nick?

The pass from Ablett to Hall probably would have come off okay any other night, the kick was fine but Hall slipped over.
Edit: I should say that I did think it was a stupid decision, it just wouldn't have been as obviously a stupid decision most nights as Hall would have gobbled it up.Last edited by stellation; 6 May 2007, 07:30 PM.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Ablett should have had a shot, full stop. If the kick was accurate Hall would not have had to make a sharp turn that resulted in the slip. Shoddy play. The pass from Ablett to Hall probably would have come off okay any other night, the kick was fine but Hall slipped over.

half the time the guy who should go for a shot but handballs seems to surprise the guy he gives it off too.
Players all fly for marks, do the swans talk on the field?Theres not much left to sayComment

When he goes out on the field, he simply has to WORK. I see all the excuses have been suggested - he was injured, he was ignored, the delivery was poor, he was wasted, someone didn't deliver the footy on a silver platter. It's all rubbish, he's got to do more and get more involved. Lazy.Comment

The TV coverage doesn't show the work done off the ball. As has been suggested, he was doing the work, but some nights the bounce of the ball just doesn't go your way. It went that way against the Swans all night, Davis was not alone. When he goes out on the field, he simply has to WORK. 3 touches. That isn't a result of the bounce of the ball.
Around the bounces/throw-ins in the fwd line in the 2nd and 4th qtr, I watched Davis, and he seemed to only half try to get the ball.
I didn't think he put in a concerted effort to get the ball.Comment

I think that is a bit hard to tell, he should ahve been moved to the midfield, he would have done a better job than that dunce McVeigh.Comment

I think you can put a bit of 3 disposals in only 60 minutes down to the bounce of the ball, though.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Not true, as noted above. When he goes out on the field, he simply has to WORK. I see all the excuses have been suggested - he was injured, he was ignored, the delivery was poor, he was wasted, someone didn't deliver the footy on a silver platter. It's all rubbish, he's got to do more and get more involved. Lazy.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
