How is it that consistently, StKilda manage to flood 18 players into our back 50 and then stream forward into an open forward line on the break and yet our guys just aren't doing the same.

Amazing isnt it. The half back line was actually doing the "slow it down" signal each time too, so it was a deliberate action.

May well you say "God save the queen", because nothing will save Paul Roos.

Fair dinkum, if I hear one more time that they beat us at our own game i reckon I'll be sick. having said that, it's surely neve been clearer to Roos and co that they need another game plan. Now I sound like the broken record....

        ALL OVER!!!

        St. Kilda 15. 7 97
        Sydney 11. 5 71

Biggest loss of the season and consecutive losses now. We were outclassed and the umpires didn't support our cause with several stupid decisions made against us. The midfield went with the chipping game and had virtually no flow. There's too much reliance on Barry Hall to kick the goals and the key backmen Barry and Bolton were easily beaten by Gehrig and Riewoldt respectively. It's obvious that Kennelly is sorely missed as we've had almost no run from the backline and Roosy should've known that the Saints would flood and multiple-man up on Hall.

We're 3-4 now and face Port Adelaide next week at the SCG who are 6-1. Port played very well against a determined Richmond side. Brendon Lade is in very good form and given Jolly's and Everitt's performances against second-rate ruckmen like Rix, Lade will slaughter them. I think we can bounce back but it's going to be a big challenge if we're going to be at the MCG on the final Saturday of September...
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

That's what I kept saying during the game. I just think we're too slow these days.

That's because their midfielders actually have a modicum of skill to hit their targets.

                Absolutely woeful.

"Ah, we'll just keep doing the same old things because those same old things won us a flag 2 years ago".

Time to wake up, I think. Nowadays you need to improve just to maintain your spot.

MUCH improved effort from Davis. Great game from O'Keefe. Jude Bolton, McVeigh and Fosdike obviously not up to AFL skills level. Goodes showed glimpses, but we need MORE from him. Ditto Everitt. Mathews, Craig Bolton, Richards were pretty solid I thought. Schneider and Buchanan had quiet games. Barry Hall... well, what can he do?

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

                    Players that need to go...

                    1. McVeigh : how many chances does he get? He added NOTHING tonight. Poor kicking, handballing, decision making, and generalyl soft at the ball

                    2. Crouch: I think hes glory days are done. He was absolutely towelled up by Milne. Clearly under-done due to his injury. Was ineffective in attack and defence, has lost his speed to compete.

Agree with all the other things being said. Outcoached tonight. BBB had 2 players on him most of the night, sometimes 3, but still we went to him.
They rebounded out of defence to easily. I hate to agree with Robert Walls, but that last quarter Roos continued to have an extra man in defence... why I dont know, given we were 25 points behind.

Its a shame that Kennelly is injured as with him gone we have next no attacking capability as Mal has to cover his role, leaving a bunch of slow taggers in the middle doing little more than directing the scrum.

                            Round 7 2005 - 3 wins, 4 losses, 89.10%, 10th
                            Round 7 2007 - 3 wins, 4 losses, 105.88%, 10th

Does smell like 2005, but I dunno if the end result will be the same...

Everyone knows our game plan. They know what will stitch and 'choke' the Swans up. I don't think the end result will be the same either.

i'm not blaming the umpires (i blame roos -outcoached yet again, ummmm maybe you should try something different- and our stupid stupid mistakes) but i have figured out what rules they are told to umpire by:

any team playing the swans - rugby ie. anything goes
swans - netball ... cannot come within 3 ft. of anyone and must not dare to touch them

how about a little consistency between teams and being FAIR!!!

is it possible to get an inquiry or something into the standard of umpiring in swans games because it is ALWAYS bad.
