Doesnt do anything.

Usually he gets one or maybe even two goals a game, but they're only from luck - he pushes his opponent under the ball and somehow gets away with it and runs into an open goal. Seriously, thats how he gets most of his goals.

He cannot, repeat CANNOT, take even a relatively-contested mark. He can barely take one on the lead! And his kicking, well, it's not the best.

But when he doesnt get a goal, its really noticable. When he doesn't have the ball he's too slow to run down his opponent - St Kilda's backmen were running it out of defence with ease last night, setting up numerous shots on goal.

He's been a great player for a number of years and I'm starting to think he's only in the team for sentimental value.

A bit like Nick, MOL is a player that will only be at his best when the rest of the side is playing well. He is icing on the cake. Sadly, no one ices a stale loaf of sourdough which is where we are at at the moment. MOL has an important part to play when we are playing well. If we put in performances like last night's for the rest of the season we wont see much of Micky, but it wont be his fault.

My thought is that at the moment we could have a separate thread for nearly every player in the team. Notable exceptions for me would be ROK, Fossie, Eski and B2. I think that most of the rest are all underperforming.

I havent looked at all the player stats yet and am surprised to hear that. Maybe he just didnt get the ball much last night rather than get it then stuff up with it, which is more noticeable (such as Teddy passing straight to a Saints player just two metres away from him). OK, delete Fossie.

Not sure about your bottom but the other ROK's bottom...that's another story ...

I think your comment about icing and stale sourdough was spot on. The only qualification is that some of the current dysfunction of our forward line and the transition into it from the midfield must be partly down to a lack of alternatives to BBBH presenting themselves. That's where watching a game on TV is a huge disadvantage because you don't get to see who is working hard further up the ground to present themself as a viable alternative target.

Yep he was baaaad.

Fosdike is a big, wide ground (read MCG) specialist. Although not particularly quick, he has a big motor and finds space on big grounds, especially since he would rarely have a strong tag applied to him. He almost always becomes the getout option for Leo, B2 etc when they are struggling to find an option coming out of defence.

Games like last night where 30+ players are in the same area of the ground for extended periods always find him out as his skills get found wanting.

Sure, he has trouble taking a contested mark but surely you understand that if you have chronic tendinitis, you need to chest mark. The knees need to come up - you can't stretch and grab as the landing puts too much strain on the knees.

So, to chest mark in a contest, he needs to lead and lead hard. I think he does that well all things considered.

Plus, he can fire up the team like anyone.

He didn't do a lot last night, but is usually one of our most vital forwards.
His knack of gathering a bouncing ball while at full speed, and hand passing or evading a tackler is exceptional.
