Yep - I think this is pretty right.

However, he is a pretty ordinary overhead mark.

Always gets an excellent defender too. I do think that he may have played a year too long.

Wonderful club servant and very hard to bag. Writing off a champ is a fools game and maybe Mick has some magic left in him before the end of 2007.

          this threads a bit much

he has played a pretty good first 7 games this year. Seems to be drifting down the ground a little which doesnt work much. I think there are at least 10 players he is ahead of in performance this year.

Just think back - any season. I challenge anyone to find one season where he hasn't been a standout - aside from injuries.

Sorry Hammo - we don't carry MOL, he carries us.

            Stupid thread sorry to say.

Generally I'd agree with you, though his performance in Q4 of the 2005 GF indicates otherwise. He took some sensational overhead marks that afternoon.

Just a shame about his kicking...

Though if he'd been able to kick straight that afternoon, we might have been saved some extreme heart stress but we'd have been denied the romance of a match-saving screamer in the dying seconds.

I am not suggesting we're carrying him, I just thought your defence of him that he's riddled with arthritis and unable to mark a ball seemed a bit strange.

Generally I feel he's moving and playing as well as he has for several seasons.

Last night he just went missing but wasn't alone.

Fozzie broke the record last night for having the most kicks smothered.

What about that @@@@ passage of play in the forward pocket with McHack. It was just about right in front of me and when i saw it i was dumb founded,it was that stupid i dont think the Auskick kids at half time were that bad.

Didn't he kick twice to a saint less than 10 feet in front of him.

                          Fair enough.

No, I was simply saying it was a question of style. I think he's a great chest marker. Never said he was unable to mark a ball, tendinitis or not.

Was defending his inability to get those long grabs in a contest. He more than makes up for it in other ways.

worst game for a player I ever saw (well in recent history)...sometimes when you are at a game you miss a lot but I did NOT miss the fact he barely touched the ball all night....5 wines in and 3/4 time I was going bizerk at Magic....I went from screaming "get in the game " to "get that clown off the field..its not his night"

why was he kept on the field though....it was just so obvious he was having a crap game..why didn't Roos take him off....pls explain? bad game plan and it was letting the team down for those players that were giving it 100%

In my boozy state I gave to the saints supporters when they were cheering that soon enough their players will sign on with the swans so cheer whilst you can- yes bitter in defeat.

Sometimes its very hard to touch the ball in the forward line of a team that is so fascinated with only kicing to one guy in the forward line ALL the time even if he has 3 opponents on him.
