Swans are clearly worried about the headline possibilities presented by having Jack and Schmidt in the same team, especially during a slump...

Why do we bother talking about McVeigh & B1...no one who matters is listening...I'm getting to the point where it is not just enough to get it off my chest here. In 50+ years of watching football I have not seen a string of pathetic games such as delivered up by McVeigh...yet he keeps getting a game???
Time for McVeigh to drop a grade and promote a resserves player. I
would like to see Brabazon get a run. He can run all day has good ball
skills and he dosen't give up.Comment

People are forgetting that our interchange needs to be trimmed down still.
Our interchange is listed as -
Crouch, Kennelly, Schneider, McVeigh, Jack, Grundy, Everitt
I would suggest that the main culprits we've been talking about are still in the line of fire accoring to that bench listing.
I think Kennelly will miss, as well as Jack and one of Crouch or McVeigh.Ed Considine's day out - Round 3, 16th April 1995.
11 Kicks, 13 Handballs, 8 Marks, 1 Goal, 1 Behind, 1 Tackle, 1 Hitout, 3 Brownlow votes (his only votes)

Against the pacy Port midfield, you would think Crouch and even Jack is a must.
I think definitely Grundy won't make it, not sure about the status of Kennelly but I think if he plays Jack won't, and I hope McVeigh gets dropped.Comment

Come off it Ugg, Crouch fast!!!Surely you jest. Last week he was walking or trotting to a contest and could not keep up with the pace of the game. He is so unfit.Comment

But I don't have to: I'll simply say, 'LRT, rounds 1-10, 2005'.Comment

Wow, you must have been watching some exquisite quality football for the last 50 years (much of it not played by the Swans). If I could be bothered going back through my old records and jogging my memory, I could find dozens of guys who have played worse than McVeigh for at least 7 senior games on the trot, and continued to get a game.
But I don't have to: I'll simply say, 'LRT, rounds 1-10, 2005'.Comment

When do the cut down teams come out?"Red and White for blood cells, Red and White for wine."

Although Im coming to this thread late, Im having real trouble understanding some of the arguments put up in favour of Crouch staying in the side on the basis of;
- he's just come back from injury so give him some time; or
- he's approaching his 2 zillionth game, so let him at least be selected until then.
In my books a player should only get selected if they have good enough form to warrant it. Sure, if there are no other better players in the 2's than Crouch then let him play, but if he needs game time to get match fit, then that's what the 2's are for.

Official - Crouch and Jack out, Dempster and Kennelly in.
Clearly Jack has been worse than McVeigh and Bevan...."I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment
