    Mc Veigh versus Scott Russell

What a contest...out on the wing together avoiding the contest....
...no hardball gets here....plenty of..'shirking the contest'. I noticed someone comparing Mc Veigh to Bomford earlier....very unfair on Bomford...I think you'll find, one Scott Russell a good comparison with Mc Veigh!
Speaking of infamous trades and draft picks from the dark days of Eade....
who could forget Ryan O'Connor or the great Dion Myles ??
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

One was a disastrous trade, the other a wasted 1st round pick.....they both make the Bomford trade look good !! Not to mention Ryan O'Connor !!
And who could forget the great Dion Myles??
Oh sorry, wrong quote ... but almost verbatim from the McVeigh thread. I think we get the picture, you don't like McVeigh. That is fine by us. Some here would agree, others wouldn't - He played a half decent game today - the "get stuck into McVeigh" won't be too high on the minds of posters this week.

There's always next week though ...

Who is .."us" ? I'd be interested to here from a Mc Veigh supporter
Since when is "half decent game" good value? By the way...I thought he was predictably ordinary

Shut down Pearce for 75-80% of the match, held him to 11 touches and 1 goal. Kicked 2 himself.

I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

"Us" is the rest of the members on this site, you are entitled to your opinion even if it is wrong. But whether right or wrong, you will be challenged to put up or shut up when you voice an opinion like yours especially when we have just won comfortably and the player you are bagging has been instrumental in that win. FWIW I haven't liked his form this year, but yesterday his game was more than servicable.

BTW did you mean "hear from a McVeigh supporter"? You don't have to be a supporter of an individual to acknowledge when he plays well.

Tell you what, if he keeps playing like he did yesterday, there wouldn't BE any talk of him being a dud

His game was pretty good I have to admit - and I am one of his critics.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I'm gonna have to watch the replay on Foxtel today 'cause as far as I could see he had way too many useless moments again, even if he did kick two goals (one of which was a great almost backwards snap).

ernie ,you have lots of mates here who don't understand the game.
mcveigh did exactly the job asked of him,i'm sure the coaches would be delighted with his effort.there has never been a game where every player has a starring role

That is the difference between live and on tv, on tv I couldn't see what was happening off the ball, come to think of it, with the camera work it was hard to see what was happening on the ball at times!

Aggressive unfounded talk 'goswannie14' , you obviously feel you speak for everybody ..... I think not !! If you'd like evidence of what a under performing player McVeigh is, then you should look back at his career to date... then rate the 'No.5 draft pick' against other top 10 draft picks from3 -6 years ago, he sits comfortably with the duds ! As for his game yesterday, we saw the great skill he possesses on, as usual, too few occasions. Once Pearse decided to play...thankfully only in the last quarter... he left Mc Veigh in his wake. The microscope will be on Mc Veigh untill he starts competing for contested possesion, hard ball gets, and maybe laying an effective tackle or two.

I'm one that has been a McVeigh supporter but now think he's had his chance. He is not performing at a level that is required in senior footy and his game yesterday was only just OK. And that's the best he's played for us for a long while.

What a load of crap. The reason he was missing for three quarters is because McVeigh played an excellent game on him - kicking 2 goals as well.

McVeigh's value last year was kicking goals from midfield which we've been missing across the board this year. The signs are he's getting his confidence back.

If you don't like having your ideas challenged, there's a simple way around it, don't post.

BTW if you think that was aggressive you need to get a grip on reality. All I did was challenge the tripe you posted...twice...almost word for word in two different threads.

You wouls also see, if you actually read all of my post that I said I was not a McVeigh supporter, but his game yesterday was servicable. Whether you think his opponent was injured or not is a red herring, because you can only play the team that is on the field. To use "he was injured" as an excuse or reason to bag someone is pathetic. :steps down off soap box:

Mc Veigh is a dud, a wasted No.5 pick, he doesn't tackle, he doesn't sheppard
