Why would you take a team that is not the quickest going around and make it slower in the week that we are to take on the quickest side going around on a ground that is the second largest in the AFL?
And as for McVeigh going out, that makes no sense. You don't drop a bloke who after a very rough patch finally produced what the coach wanted last weekend.
Besides McVeigh is suited to play on the slight, agile, hard running players like Pearce and which the Bulldogs have copious amounts of. He will get a job this week on a McMahon, Gia......., Ray type of player and will hopefully produce what he did last weekend.
As for changes, I think Laidlaw for Beven would make sense this week just to add another player with pace and hard running capacity.
We smashed the Dog's last year dominating the clearances and winning the contested ball, our A grade intensity game will be needed this week for a similar result.
