Pressure is first class at the moment. Bulldogs being forced wide and kicking into contests.

Hall has to stop throwing his arms up and asking for frees. Start going for the ball and the free kicks will come.

Overall a very good first half.

Ruck division doing a great job ? Everitt has been superb around the ground and Jolly has been effective popping up in the forward line.

For someone of his size and talent, Hall is becoming the biggest whinger and weakest sook in the competition. Harris has totally outpointed him and Hall has spent too much time complaining about supposed infringements that aren?t there, rather than concentrating on getting the ball.

Defensively the team has been very good. Dempster playing well on Johnson. Kirk doing a fantastic job on West. Overall defence solid. We really notice the difference without Kennelly, particularly on Malceski?s game, but nevertheless Malceski is still playing very well. I think C Bolton might be on Cooney and doing well there.

Some good work through the middle from Ablett , Schneider and O?Keefe, and in part from Fosdike. McVeigh has been reasonable too and Goodes is beginning to show some form.

Pressure must be pretty good across the ground as the Bulldogs have committed some rather ordinary turnovers.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

At one stage in the first quarter the free kick count was Sydney 8, Doggies 2.
Ended up being 8-4 at quarter time and I had thought the umpiring had been pretty good.
A lot of soft frees to the Dogs in that quarter, it is now 10-13 so 2-9 in that quarter.

We've been pretty good overall. Putting a lot of pressure on the dogs and they are crumbling. But more importantly we are making them pay on the rebound.

Dempster did a great job on Johnson in that quarter. 9 touches are quarter time, and only 3 in that term.

Kirk has kept West quiet. Has only had 1 kick (6HBs).

Crouch has been a lot better too.
Bevan is useless though, VERY poor disposal.
Schneider, Ablett, Malceski, Everitt, Jolly, Goodes etc have been very good.

There was one point though, in that quarter where Everitt DID NOT chase. He found himself on the bench a second later...

Very clever coaching by Roosy - I can't believe Eade has let Jolly and Everitt dominate in the forward line - so obvious a tactic.

Micky looks on song for a good one - he usually plays well against the Dogs.

BBBH just needs to keep his cool and keep presenting up the ground - that is the tactic - let the ruckmen and Mick in behind.

Goodesy is getting better and Malceski looks like a 100 gamer.

I have no complaints about the free kicks, I think they were all there. Considering that soft holding the ball one we got in the first quarter we should be thanking our lucky stars.

Jude is playing much better this week, as is Crouch. As others have said, our ruck combination is outstanding.

Barry Hall would serve the team better by ignoring the umpiring and focussing on second efforts.

Some interesting stats to half time:

                      Sydney 189
                      Bulldogs 131

                      Sydney 54
                      Bulldogs 29

                      Tackles
                      Sydney 27
                      Bulldogs 17

Jarrad Crouch leads inside 50s with 5
Luke Ablett leads contested possessions with 7

Darren Jolly is the top ranked player on the ground, with Everitt second. Schneider third and Goodes fourth.

No complaints. We probably had the better of the decisions in the first term.

The only negative I can find in this game, plus Monty's inaccuracy from set shots. Otherwise, a very good first half and good al round team performance. Noteworthy highlights have been our ruck, Malceski, MOL, Goodes and Crouch.

Crouch 11 touches, 9 kicks to 7 touches, 3 kicks for Preying Manis. Kirk on West, magic in 1st half.
