Jack V Acka..I'd like to see that

I hear rumblings that Crouch may be back this week to continue his battle with Acka. He's certainly done well in the past.....but.......
I'd like to see Jack given another crack at him...he's more than up to it, he's got plenty of pace and stamina to counter Acka, and would learn heaps.

Sounds like a good idea. Jack definitely needs to play against some tough opponents. Only concern is that Aker is finding some form and we're 4-4. Can we afford this risk?

That's when slow season starts can really become annoying. The ability to take such risks is diminished.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

I think Aker would give him a towelling.

Crouch is the perfect match up for Aker. Yesterday's man on yesterday's man.

So who do we drop for Crouch or young Jack?

Or better does anyone deserve dropping and why?

The only two players whose spots can possibly be in question after last week are Dempster and Bevan - not because they played poorly but because they were probably the last two chosen. (This assumes, of course, that Kennelly's knee won't be an issue.) Yet both are players who Roos clearly has a lot of belief in given they were brought back into the senior team quickly after recovering from their injuries.

I can't see Dempster losing his spot, meaning it will almost certainly come down to a decision between Crouch and Bevan and there would probably need to be a pretty compelling reason - in terms of match-ups - to make that change.

Crouch didnt do anything in the reserves to warrant selection. I think Bevan could handle Aker ok. bevan is actually very good at the defensive aspect of his game.

I cant see Roos (or whoever is selecting the team these days) making any changes. I wouldnt be supprised if he's thinking all his problems are over after the Port win despite Port winning clearances and inside 50's.

Hear hear!! But after his..."half decent game" ...he won't go. Bevo can't handle Acka , he's too slow and too clumsy.....it would be free kick after free kick.....
Jack has a great future...start it now !!

Surely they wont fall for the pre season giggle match up. Aker was probably less than half fit.

Neither Jack nor Crouch should play. Bevan for some one preferably with a bit of pace, but not one of these.

                      Half decent = half full.
                      Half crap = half empty.

Acker is probably going to spend most of his game time fwd, this seems to suit a Bevan match up. If Crouch was dropped only due to form is 1 week long enough to turn that around?

Drop McVeigh? - Im not a fan but drop him for who? IMHO our midget midfield could do with some size and pace but there doesnt seem to be too many alternatives in the 2's. Schmidt may come on but looks a ready made Fosdike replacement rather than the defensive midfield role.

Wouldnt mind seeing Malceski given some on ball time now that Dempster is back. But once you play back flack in the Swans you appear to be labelled, stamped and branded - backman.

Where is the Swans next "star" midfielder going to come from given most are early draft picks? With extra funds available for player payments from next year it will be interesting if we chase someone and if we do what position we target.

                          Cheers
