I thought he took possession with one hand, the other was being held by a Bomber, and he was gang tackled with no prior opportunity.
I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

You have to have prior opportunity and I don't think he dived on it.

          Probably!

Davis seemed to be wasted at FF for a lot of the game. He was our only effective forward but wasn't near the ball for a lot of it.

I disagree. Yeah we didn't play well, but we played well enough to win. How Barry Hall manages to maintain his composure while the umpires take turns ridiculing him and wrecking what is left of his career is beyond me.

I am always pretty ready to cast blame when we lose, but in this game, I think we were genuinely robbed.

We didn't play anywhere near well enough to win. I thought Essendon should have buried us in the third quarter.

                Are you an Ump?

Because if you aren't, then why are defending a patently obviously wrong decision?

Um, he said that the umps got it wrong, and that they had a bad game. Sydney played bad, that's why we lost. Nowhere has a decision been defended

Can you read? I'm not defending the decision - I'm saying it's not why we lost. We were beaten all game.

We had just 18 scoring shots. That is pathetic. Only once this year has a team won with 18 or less scoring shots. Only three times with less than 20. That's 3 times out of 74 games - that suggests a bigger problem than one umpiring error.

He should have have run the ball upfield to create some pressure then he could still have turned it back to the centre like he did anyway if no possibilities opned up. I thought he was channelling LRT in what was a fairly ordinary game for him.

Crap. we lost by a point, 2 extremely bad umpiring decisions. Yeah we didn't play the best but we could have won if it were not for bad umpiring decisions.

We often play badly and manage to win. Tonight, a bevy of very poor umpiring directly resulted in denying us several goals and giving several to goals Essendon. If the umpries had not made these errors, it is probable that we would have won despite playing @@@@e.

We could have won if Buchanan could kick straight, or if Goodes had a heart, or if the game was played over 3 twenty minute thirds

We could also have won if we'd played even remotely well. Essendon totally outplayed us in the third quarter, but missed easy goals. We should have been further behind.

Who knows if the McPhee decision had been called out of bounds if we would have won anyway.
