I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -

Are you up for it
Ok I have a challenge for you Sydney supporters ...
I live in Sydney ... originally from WA. I go to many games at the SCG because I love footy and the Swans are OK.
After the game last Sat night I am taking action.
I am sick of over umpiring and Im asking all fans to boycott the game after the split the round. The only way the AFL is going to listen is money.
Im going to get out there and get this msg to all AFL fans possible. Not just to boycott the next game but protest outside all grounds that wkend until the AFL listen..... up for itComment

our memberships are pre-paid - i try not to miss games.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Petitions are binned the second the envelope is cut.
Boycott is a good idea.
Hell, we can all convene at the Alexy. And Annie, sure, you've paid your membership fees but so what?
I say boycott. In fact, I bet you that we could line up Tim Morrissey and get a mention, thereby widening the call.
We are only a few amongst many fans and any boycott that's confined to RWO would register as a blip.
So, what say ye and any ideas on how best to get the word out to the masses?
I say we start with the Tele and let the momentum spread from there. Scott, you are aware that RWO could issue a formal media release don't you? I'll happily write it for you - have written tons in my time.Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sectorComment

The 2 incidents that irked me the most were the free to Mal Michael, I commented, initially, that it was probably for an illegal push (ball not witin 5 metres) and was surprised it was given as a HITB, the other one was for the HTB decision against Malceski (I suggested the umpires might like to have another look at the rule book and learn about prior opportunity).
With regard to the booing, I didn't partake and wasn't aware of it until I read this site. I don't see a problem with booing a poor decision at the time (such as McPhee's OOB) as everyone knows what your are displeased about. As for booing at the end of the game I don't see the point, no-one knows who you are booing, it could be the umpires, the opposition or your own team.
I'm drafting a letter to send to the fat controller expressing my views on the new rules.Bring it on!Comment

Boycotting won't do much unless you boycott the whole year or not buying anything at all from the afl caterers at the ground. this won't happened - well not in Melbourne anyway. And if it does happened in Sydney then the swans will be labelled big sooks and trouble makers by the Melbourne print mafia.
You want to let the afl know we are not happy? How about we make a huge banner like 30 rows down and 100 seats across or even bigger with a huge message? We can place it behind above the boards where the redevelopment us happening or as added impact we can unveil it during the game...imagine the coverage? And the TV camera will def not be able to miss it and it should send a clear and strong msg home. In o/s competitions when the fans wanted to protest and let the leagues know how they felt this was the best action to take.
As i said if you really want to make the afl really hurt then boycott all AFL for one whole year. No TV no going to games not even buying official AFL newspapers. To them Crowd numbers and TV ratings mean a lot more than anything else and if the caterers are not making money then they will whine to the afl.
Petitions don't work at all. I have seen many binned or ignored.Comment

Sure, the Melbourne print would have a go but you would also see some media support.
However, either way, your banner idea is a great one and would certainly serve as a worthy back up.Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sectorComment

We could all just sing cheer cheer non stop at this years Grand Final when Vlad the dictator is speaking and about to present us with the cup?
Or is that considered a mark of disrespect towards someone we swans fan detest as a collective?
i mean we all boo john Howard at these events don't we?
