Most overtly biased umpiring I have seen

Apart from repeating Scott's post and pointing out that you should really read the whole thread, I will add the following;
Essendon fans should feel as miffed with the umpires as Swans fans. They murdered that game as a contest between 44 elite athletes by ignoring many blatant frees while also paying many ticky touch ones that ruined the flow of the game. Both teams benefited at times; both were penalised at times, though I think the balance of the most blatant ones went in favour of the Bombers.
Yes, most of us here probably accept that the Bombers were the better team on the night and in that sense deserved to win. However, the feeling that so much of the crowd had as that game progressed is that the players were being robbed of their right to dictate what the outcome should be.
Contrast it with another narrow, dramatic game, the SF against Geelong in 2005. The umpires showed an amazing restraint in that game by just paying the obvious frees and letting the whole thing flow. The outcome was decided by the players. Given the much higher stakes than on Saturday night, you can imagine how devasted Geelong fans would have felt to have lost that one at the death. And yet I think I have barely heard a Cats fan comment on the match with anything other than good humour and dignity because they knew that at least they'd been onlookers to a true contest between just 44 men.
Try getting it through to your head that that is why SOME of the crowd booed at the end of the game. Nothing to do with Matthew Lloyd or the rest of the Bombers at all.Maybe you guys should read more of the threads before you start posting, not every thought Sydney were hard done by. Yes there were decisions that went against us, but we also recognise that some went with us. We also recognise that you guys played much better than us. We played like crap, except for a few small bursts.
Crowds like to take their frustration out on opposition players, umpires, and sometimes the coaches as well. It's part of the game. Happens everywhere.
Liz, all you have done is inadvertantly agree with me. I have been trying to get the point across that there were many bad calls on Sat night. Both ways. But umpires are only human, they must make split decisions at a hectic pace. Unfortunately they often get it wrong... There is still no point blaming them for a loss.
If, in fact, what you all say re: the boo-ing, and the intended targets, is true, then I stand corrected. Would still have liked to have heard Matty speak. Apparently he thanked you all for being so passionate...so I'm told.Comment

No, I'm much better looking then Fat@@@@@.
I read this site knowing that, I don't get your point at all.. Didn't come here wanting to talk about anything other then how pathetic it is A) You blame the umpires for us simply outplaying you, and B) Pretty pathetic to boo a champion of the game who had no saying in the umpires performance.
I don't like horses, don't win nearly as much money on them as I did on this match.
Funny how some people believe if you have an issue with the umpires you are being a bad loser. A majority of Swans fans know we played poorly That doesn't get away from the fact the Umpires were pathetic. I also defend our right to discuss the performance of the Umpires without being given a "bad loser" tag...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

However, when I am confident, we seem to lose. Dunno bout that one. Still, I was confident before Saturday as well...look what happened.Comment

Booing the opposition club captain to the extent where you can't hear his speech, well, that deserves the "bad loser" tag.Comment

There's such a thing as being a bad winner too. I don't see what you want to achieve by coming to a Swans site and telling us what to think and how to react.Comment

Just messing around, I know there is. But boo a club champion, disrespect Essendon, then complain when Essendon fans have a go? Kinda stupid really.Comment

Just for you, Scott. A few examples of what I was replying to.
Agreed wholeheartedly and Barry Hall seems to have the wrong end in too many games.
BTW, I am one of those who BOO during the presentation. I felt guilty about it while driving home and knew that I shouldn't boo when Matty Lloyd was doing his speech. BUT SO BLOODY WHAT?! WHO THE BLOODY HELL CARE HOW IT SOUNDED ON TV? I have been to quite a few games that we lost by a point and tonite is the first time that I saw so many members acted like "sore losers" because it was a really filthy filthy game to have lost. May be we should have played better, may be also, the umpires should be a bit more consistent about what is right and what is wrong and pay for what is wrong every time and not just sometimes.

Can you, with a straight face, tell me that the Bomber fans would have given a respectful silence to say, Nathan Buckley, after after your team lost by a point after being subjected to some very dodgy umpiring. In the cold light of day it wasn't a great reaction but in the heat of the moment it was an understandable one...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. I don't know everyone of our fans, so can't comment for them. But in past ANZAC Day matches we have been very respectful during the presentations.Comment

Then reply to those rather than trying to assume all Swans fans are saying the same thing.
