At least 1 change needed...so who?

    For mine....
Guess who...McVeigh...watching him run through the centre, unapposed, and kick short of his target.......some 20 mts away...that was the last straw

The microscope is also on Bevan, he continuely bombs it in to players who are out numbered..and Matthews, he continuely chips it to players under pressure. Davis,he needs to lift his work rate and get to more contests.

Let's give Moore or Schmit a fair dinkum chance...and lets have a look at Laidlaw, or Jesse White, in top company.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

davis?? he is one of the best in this team.

I want to see goodes dropped, he will probably be suspended anyway. He needs to regain his confidence and wont be much use against the hawks the way he is playing. At least move him to full forward or something.

I want to see changes in the style of play more than anything else. Like not leading to the friggen boundry, and kicking it out in front of hall and magic, give them half a chance. Id like to see more flexibility in the game plan, if we are getting beaten then shake things up a bit, i dunno move hall to the backline, move leo to full forward. The team were very reluctant to try things last night, nick davis gave us the only glimpse of something special with his goal early in the game.

Even towards the end we still chipped and held it up waiting etc, there was bugger all time left. Lets have a bit of adventure into the game plan. Lets play like we did in the 2nd quarter but from the start for a whole game for once.
Theres not much left to say

It's a fine balance though. The temptation maybe just to kick it in quickly but that was what they'd been doing half the night and that played straight into Essendon's hands, with one of their 3 spare defenders just picking it off.

Given that they did create a genuine matchwinning chance after finding themselves needing three goals in about as many minutes indicates they played the very end of the game quite well - with the right balance of purpose and patience. If they'd shown that balance a bit earlier in the game and kicked in blindly less often, they may well have won the game by a couple of goals.

Where would we have been without Davis last night? He's our best kicker!

Also, don't agree with dropping Goodes. Sure he's getting frustrated but he's still one of our "star" players.

The only change will probably be Crouch for Bevan until LRT comes back - hopefully by round 12.

I think the selectors this week will have to deal with McVeigh. He can't continue in the 1s with his present form. 10 rounds to find form is plenty.

The suggestion to drop Davis after last night is the most stupid thing I've ever read on here.

He's a show pony mate, kicking 3 straight when he could have been throwing himself senselessly into contests.

yes very good points. It is just frustrating after a game like last night. Id like to see the forward line work a lot better and try to give more room for leads and create easier shots at goals.

I think your right with the balance, i think personally i find it frustatring when we are down like we were early we suddenly play a burst of brilliant football which is clean and direct, makes you wonder where that goes all the time.

Id like to see barry out on a lead more last night to expose mal michael. Mal isnt the quickest defender ever, but he can more than match barry if they wrestle for a ball kicked in high.

I'd like to see Schmidt brought back in favour of McVeigh.

Dempster is talented, but he's not being used to his full potential. That goal he kicked in Q1 last night was a beauty.

                          McVeigh has to go now.

                          Bevan very soon.

J Bolton and Mathews are borderline.

I think Buchanan still has something useful to offer, but just needs to concentrate more on his disposal.

Dempster is fine - I think the coaching staff need to put him somewhere to get him more involved.

dempster could be a good target up forward, which leaves okeefe running around the backline.

Bevan showed a lot of determination but thats about it.

Id be reluctant to drop j.bolton just yet, think he has something to offer still.
