So you missed the one of Sat night and the three last week then.....
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

Let's not be greedy, I'd be happy to settle for Kirk, B1, McVapor (or McVapid if you like), ROK, Bucky, Ablett, Fosdike etc. (but especially that bunch) being able to kick straight with one foot!

I think Schneider's doing a pretty good job this year. Seventh highest in disposals (17.2 per game), generally does someone reasonable with the ball, and has kicked 10 goals (equal third best).
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Look, Don't get me wrong. I'm a BIG Schneiderman fan, but whilst he's had a couple of good games recently, He has been very average this year. Of those disposals, I'd better half of them have been ineffective. He needs to kick more than 0.8 a game and for mine, , he just doesn't seem to have had the impact this year as he has in the last cple of years. He's been beaten far to many times and really hasn't shown as much as he's capable of.

According to the Record, his disposal effectiveness has been 83% - higher than every other Swan midfielder other than Jack (whose sample size is too small to be considered).

I'd have him down as one of a small handful of Swans who have shown notable improvement this season - especially in his second efforts and tackling pressure. He has been reasonably consistent and pretty versatile too, playing in defence, the midfield and up forward.

                          Disagree.

You can pull out all the stats you like, but he just doesn't seem as "dangerous" or as "damaging" to oppositions as he has been in the past. Perhaps because he is, as you say playing a bit more up the ground this year. But I still maintain that in past years he's always looked like he was going to do something special everytime he went near the ball. Not so this year.

                            Effectiveness v gamebreaking ability.

My opinion's not based on stats. It is based on my observation of how he has played this year. I merely quoted that one stat to refute your assertion that half his disposals have been ineffective.

As Scott points out, there is a difference between being effective with disposals (based on how the AFL stats measure this) and being damaging but my impression is that he's generally been quite damaging with his disposals too - in a positive way.

But the main reason why I've been impressed by his year so far is because I think his pressure skills have been much improved. He seems to be tackling more effectively - especially some great tackles on ruckmen, including the way he stripped the ball off Campbell(?) at the weekend - and he seems just to be chasing and harrassing more, and putting in more effective second efforts, things that don't always show up in any statistical measure.

I think Schneider's all-round game has improved. Probably doesn't have quite the flair he had a few years ago, but he's more steady and does more of the one percenters. I'm hoping that means he can begin to add back in the flair and retain the steadiness, and turn into that outstanding footballer he has the potential to be.
