Sydney Victorian based members...I NEED YOUR HELP!

    Hey guys,

I am heading down with 4 friends from Sydney who are not members for the Geelong V Sydney game. I myself am a Sydneysider member but this does not allow me to get tickets in the swans area online.

Are there 5 Victorian Based members who are not attending this match who would be happy to let me know their membership barcode so I can get tickets in the Swannies section please?!?!

It would be a huuuuge help! Please PM if you can help.

    THANK YOU!

Anyone pleeeeese. I do not need your membership card or name just your barcode number so I can purchase the seats online.

I am introducing 4 newbies into the AFL and enticing them to become Swannies fan. Help me expand our masses!

Matt - Love to help, but have already done exactly that for someone with my bar-code ... Please note that it appears that you will need the memberships to get into the ground even after you purchase tickets - swansrock4eva will be able to tell you more ...

Contact [email protected] to see what they can arrange. They are usually excellent at getting a reply back to you, more often than not on the day you sent it.

There is no guarantee mind you, as getting seats at Geelong is as rare as hens teeth. You all could stand on the terrace if you want.

Thanks all for your advice and several offers for barcodes...the Swans family are the best!!

I managed to get 5 seats for the game this morning without requiring the barcodes through Ticketmaster.

You are right though JF about tkts being as rare as hen's teeth. I got my tickets right on 9:00am and then I tried again 10 minutes later to see where we could have got 5 tickets again and there were none available!!

Yeah, i booked my tickets through the Swans Melbourne office and in my confirmation letter it said that i have to have my membership card to get in.

Anyone else who is going and got their tickets through the Swans, do you know where we'll be sitting? Do they usually put away members behind the goals or something? I was watching the game on the weekend and i have no idea where the Lions fans were sitting..

There is a spot for the away fans on the 50m line next to their new stand to the right of the tv when you are watching a game at Skilled on telly.

I got my 5 tickets in the Ablett Terrace so we will ramp the noise up for the Swans at the other end of the ground!

LOL>.. good luck... You're going to need it!!!

Skilled is the worst road trip and the worst venue for a visiting team. Parochial just doesn't seem adequate in this instance.

I was also thinking of getting to this game - sounds like I missed the very slim window of opportunity? What's my best bet at this stage, any thoughts?

                  Thx.

You can still get general admission tickets Giant, however, there were only single seats left for reserved seating as of 9:30am (only 30 minutes after they went on sale) so if you want an actual seat, go to www.ticketmaster.com.au and grab a tkt.

Ablett Terrace is where the Membership Dept was selling tix for. I got my two so am very pleased - my first trip to Skilled

As a side note, I'm picking a friend up from Avalon at 9.15, and we were going to head straight down to Geelong - what's best for parking and stuff to do pre-match? I've only been to Geelong twice and don't really know the area well!

No the club is express posting them out to me on Wednesday next week, as they should be doing for anyone who chose the post option rather than picking them up at the ground.

Whatever you do, don't park in the grounds of Kardinia Park!! You will still be in a gridlock several hours later, and I am not kidding. This year for the first time in ages, we are going to watch on TV because:
                              1. The crowd is VERY parochial
                              2. Buying tickets through Ticketmaster means you are sitting next to CATS fans.
                              3. It takes forever to leave.
                              4. The weather is usually very ordinary (they have their own climate down there).

I would suggest you park several streets away, then walk very quickly back to your car at the end of the match.
Last weekend in Sept 05 - The best weekend of my life!
