    Has the 7 Coverage Improved?

We hardly get the "pleasure" of hearing the 7 coverage seeing as how they are doing such a GREAT job of getting their money's worth in the Sydney market, ie too few games being covered.

However there is a bit of a mood out there that they have improved?? Have they??

Personally, I continue to cringe, however what are the alternatives?

The biggest gripe remains that they are not putting free to air footy on live in the northern states and relying on Fox. The deal is so convoluted that at times, Fox and 10 are running the same game and anyone with Fox, uses Fox, diluting 10's revenue (who cares).

Then there's Fox Footy. Who misses Fox Footy, STILL? ME, MYSELF, I and all my friends do as well. Fox is floundering at the moment, really boring and without IQ, you would never watch anything. BRING BACK FOX FOOTY!

Fox Footy was vital to the northern states and to be honest, they could just roll the screen with old games and intersperse that with the current shows they offer and a bit of Footy News at say 7pm. I would be happy.

Thats my hobby horse soap box bit. Tell us, what are your thought on the 2007 coverage of footy?

Or the southern states. I think there has been only one live game this year on 7.

Will improve when we get FNF at a reasonable time. (not holding my breath for that to happen), and when coverage isn't delayed for some cars going around a track.

On Foxtel overall? That's just not true.

Got it in one. McAvaney, his whiney voice and the rest of his team are yesterdays commentators. We've gone back more than the 5 years that they didn't have the television rights. They are absolutely pathetic.

Channel 7 stinks so far. They can't compare with Channel 9 from previous years as far as Sunday games are concerned.

at least sydney are getting a sunday game other than sunday's 1pm swans v anybody.
the coverage is better than nothing.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I don't really understand what is so bad.

Channel 9 got better over the 5 years, 7 will too.

Channel 9 only showed 1 live game which was the sunday 1.10pm game along with 1 delayed game and then 2 hour packaged delayed game.

7 show two delayed matches to Melbourne and most other places get live or a live/delay mix.

What was so wonderful about 9?

They didn't take a backward step when they won the reigns over 7.

In Perth, Channel 9 showed the decency to broadcast live Sunday footy at 11am regardless who is playing and they broadcast at least one game every Sunday during the AFL season. Channel 7 however broadcasts a game only when the Eagles or Dockers play and it's only a feed from Foxtel (usually delayed coverage) and I doubt you'll see V8's and footy at the same time. Channel 9 also didn't have microphone problems, crowd reaction is almost non-existent during Channel 7 coverage. I don't think many people want to watch Sunday footy at 10:30pm either.

The only good thing about 7's coverage is that they don't have Eddie McGuire commentating, too bad McAvaney and Ox suck.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

It's not that Ch 9 was good, just that Ch 7 is bad. You'd hope that a change in station would result in an improvement, rather than either a deterioration or stagnation at best.

Ch7 coverage is uninspiring. That said, with the exception of the Essendon v West Coast game, the friday night matches have been worse than uninspiring, and I'm yet to watch one to the finish.

As I say, there are no guarantees in this world and to have ads on Fox when I pay a significant subscription fee is unacceptable. Like those SBS ads gggrrr

Anyway, if it wasn't for Spongebob and IQ, I would have to do a heck of a lot more parenting through the week.

The addiction to Fox lives on. I love to bag it, but I will never get rid of it.
