Actually for the Collingwood game, I am getting into the heart of enemy territory. My brother is a fanatical Pies supporter (GRRR) and good mates with Gary Pert.

As a result I am going to the Collingwood President's function at the match and into the Pies dressing room before and after the match. Should be amazing to see what goes on. I will wear my Swan's tie though!!

WHAT?????? put dollars into another club ... not in this life pal.

the owners of the place we stayed at left their ainters membership behind, and we were allowed to use them. i've never been to telstra dome, so it was a good opportunity to go. pity they had the roof open though, i wanted to check it out closed.

So, is ANYONE training it down?

Are the club holding any pre-match get-together at a pub like I think they did a couple of seasons ago? Is anyone up for a feed afterwards? I think some of the gang ate at a pizzeria in Hoppers Crossing that had Michelangelos on one whole wall the last time I was down there.

You just assume I actually have a license Annie. Seriously, living in Newtown (or Seddon for that matter ) & having a car is actually more stress than it is worth.

Plus I want to go one one of these babies too!

You won't get one of those on the Geelong line, they are too small. We get them occasionally on the Seymour line, they are a lot better to ride in than the older version, the "sprinter"

You're most likely going to be in this http://www.vlinecars.com/aczcars.htm pulled by a locomotive.

I have travelled on the new 'fast' train to Geelong but for the kind of crowd they get come in for the footy it will be sure to be the older style.

Nothing wrong with the train JF. I made the trip from Spencer St station about eight years ago. I think that was the year the Swans bus broke down. It was the last round of the Home and Away and we missed the finals that year. Oh, and we also narrowly lost to the Cats that day. Standing behind the goals at the northern end in amongst the feral Geelong crowd was a real eye opener. The air was blue with the sort of language being tossed around and it was all directed at the Swans and their supporters. Even a sailor would have blushed. I've been promising myself a return visit but it'll have to wait for another year. I will really have my fingers crossed for Saturday. Promise.
