Interesting to read O'Keefe's report on the Geelong game this week. Normally he repeats the same old 'one week at a time' thing, but this week he actually has an opionion.
I cant link to the article as the only way to read it is if it sent via email as far as I know. If you want to subscribe to ROK's report then travel to
Here is what he had to say:
"I think the highest level in any sport should have the best possible facilities available to them. The sport is played at the elite level, the players use the best possible equipment, fans pay a premium for tickets or membership, and the media companies pay the highest price to have access to the sport - so why have grounds and facilities which aren't really top class?
"Some people may disagree with my opinion and that's fine, I'm not saying that I'm right, but I am entitled to it, and I think all top level games should be played at the best arenas and grounds in each city and move away from the suburban grounds we used to play at.
"These days each ground needs to be designed specifically for football, or if that's not possible at least modified to make it safe for the players, and the facilities need to be world class..."
Guess he doesnt like the Geelong road trip then, and is probably glad that Oputus Oval closed down.
