I think the team is well and truly established for 2007 now,McVeigh having played every game.He and Buchanan are different types of players so for Amon to get back in,which he will, someone else is going to be very unfortunate.
We haven't developed enough youngsters this year which makes our future look a bit grim, imo!

I give up on the McVeigh / Bevan front...it seems they are untouchable but both lack any touch of maturity (which they should have by now) let alone class. I watch what young blokes are doing at Collingwood & Hawthorn & Brisbane & wonder what the difference is. Confidence shouldn't be the issue based on our success the last few years & their proximity to it.

I actually thought Bevan did pretty well on Farmer yesterday.... Kept him to two goals and certainly, limited his impact.

As will surely be pointed out, I have bee slamming Bevan but he certainly paid his way yesterday. Very hard to see him getting dropped now, and to be honest, his last two games suggest he's worth staying in the team....

Farmer went off injured not long into the 3rd qrtr.

Bevans best spoil was on Spida, fortunately it didn't result in a goal.

Mcveigh to permanent forward. Do it Roosy. His goal kicking WILL improve. He has the smarts for the role (great reader off the pack).

I agree. I think that if Monty had played as Schneider had in the 2's the week before (BOG) then his reinclusion in the seniors would be deserved. But he wasnt BOG. Meanwhile, Scheiderman proved that his reinclusion was warranted by playing one of his best games this year against Freo (other than that selfish, stupid missed shot at goal).

I am very impressed with Schmidt. He surely deserves his own RWO thread of praise this week.

5 years from now, in his Brownlow acceptance speech, Jarrad McVeigh will recall a long forgotten time in 2007 when he went through a terrible slump in form, and the fans were calling for his scalp, but Roosy and his mates at the club stuck by him until he got his confidence back. And the rest is history.

Surely not. Schmidt definitely looks to be in the top 22 now. Just keeps improving and is really proving to be a valuable team member now. As I said a little while ago, I expect him to turn into a useful long-term centreman. Maybe even something approaching Sam Mitchell if we're really lucky.
