Oh the irony!! On channel 7's "The Force" tonight, the police were at the West Coast V Freo game. They arrested 2 fans in the toilets sniffing cocaine...could not tell however, if it was Cousins!!

Spida is rolling our the red carpet for Cuz's return (evening news bulletins).
That's quite believable.... it's a very hostile home crowd.
Perfect time to win the first quartr for a change.

At the Weagles training tonight there were about 2,000 supporters there to cheer on their boys. Training in nice dry conditions.

Tomorrow night 5.30pm at our training it`s gunna be rainy and @@@@ty with about 50 fans(me & my son included).

Saturday night is gunna be rainy & @@@@ty. Do you think this is gunna help out guys or hinder them??

Hinder...we are dreadful in the wet. We don't adapt well to different conditions and rely on the short, precise game still.

It's like playing on the synthetic turf in hockey when it rains. The ball slows down sooo much belting the cover off it like normal is useless, you have to raise the ball just above the ground for it to travel any distance.

If aging once a week hacks can adapt surely our boys can do it? One would hope so but the evidence is not there historically.

IIRC the Eagles aren't any better in the wet than we are.

I`ts 10 past 3 with training starting at 5 and it`s THUMPING down with rain. I haven`t seen it like this in ages. Surely if we train in these conditions we must have a leg up for a rainy game Sat.

It's 3:40 now and the rain has eased off for the minute, more rain predicted though.

I thought that last time we played in the wet we looked pretty good when we pretended that it wasn't.

I know it wasn't a huge amount of rain but we did look quite ineffective when playing "traditional" wet weather footy and I couldn't tell it was wet at all when they just moved the ball quickly through hands.

Just got back from the training session. It was like an omen. Half hour before the start the rain stopped and the clouds cleared a bit.

Geez the boys looked switched on. They ran well kicked straight on goals and did very few fumbles. They looked GREAT. Had a few words with ROK, Teddy, Leo, Goodsie & Kirky. They were all possitive about the big game on Sat. Teddy put on that sly grin of his when I asked how he rekons we`ll go and he said " I think we`ll do pretty good!!!".

Tadhg looked a bit slow though.

All in all, I came away feeling pretty happy.

I thought the opposite. When they were trying to clear the ball precisely through handballs it came unstuck. Just as when they were trying to pinpoint passes to players in the forward pockets. Especially early against Geelong.

But in the second half of the Cats game and for bits of the Freo game, it was more a case of just clearing the ball anyhow from defence, keeping it moving forward whichever way possible, and then getting the likes of Malceski and B2 and Ablett to get it forward to the hot spot in front of goal, where we actually created dangerous scoring opportunities. To me, that is what effective wet weather footy is all about - not being precise. And when we did it, we scored goals.
