    Wow!

    A Layby post that:
    a) snipes at others
    b) fails to contribute to the substance of the debate at all; and
    c) obsesses about the length of other people's posts.

At least I can rely on someone to never change their tune. Which is comforting in these troubled times.

          No. Just being realistic.

Well they found a new dynamic in their avenue to Goal, but there were still the usual ball handling and skill errors.

I wish the Swans had a team who could occassionally ( - say once in every 10 games, againts top opposition) lead confidently
from the front and dare other teams to be as good as them.

I wouldn't even mind if they play the way they do, by waiting till the last 10 miuets to really put the screws on, if only they timed their run a bit better and were capable of kicking 3 or four quick goals to really make the opposition @@@@ themselves !!!

But instead it is always just the super slow grind, which still seems to work from time to time during a game, but rarley gets them big wins againts quality opposition like it has in past seasons. And don't say the Hawks, cos I don't rate them.

No, I don't feel they let themselves down tonight. It was a disappointing loss, yes, and the errors and missed opportunities were frustrating, especially when the game was still alive, but we were undermanned, and I know it's a cliche but tonight was one game where it's true to say that we were outclassed. The Eagles have gotten better and we are not as good as we were. That said, the rivalry that we have had with West Coast over the past 2 years really has been something special, and won't be forgotten. I think the loss hurts more because of the 1 point loss in Round 1.

i was at the game tonight, and too be honest the boys effort was there at the start the game which was a positive. The coasters midfield is the best in the biz and just having their 3 best there in presence took our guys opff the ball and onto the man instead
The 3rd quarter was the only quarter that let us down, and due in fact to our backline leader not there, while another key backman was out.
The inexperienced guys who would normally not play down the back just got lost and worsfold and the eagles capitilised on it.
Simple as that, The eagles should have blown us away, but to our CREDIt we hung in there, and if there was another 5 mins to go we would ahve won, same if we had Hally and Kennelly.

The only thing i can say, is the eagles midfielders do not all go for the ball, they only have 1 or 2 go in and the rest hang back, we tend to all go in, and if the ball pops out they are there for it, thts their strength as well.
Also dont forget we kicked comething like 6 behinds in the 2nd quarter, so a little more accurate and it could have gone either way.

As i said effort was there generally, just lacking in only 1 qtr due to inexperience.

I didn't think there was a great deal of effort, or at least effective effort, in the first quarter. Only five inside 50s is pretty pathetic.

I follow them cos I bloody love the Swannies.
Sure some things let us down...but the fight and tenacity and bloody honour in the jumper was there tonight. We did well to fight back and only lose by 12points. I was always wary of tonight. Cousins back etc.... We did well but looked like we badly missed Tadgh and Hall.

                        Totally agree
I think we miss a tall defender
We need to get LRT back in the side
                        Grundy was hopeless in defence

then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

General Mac (Footyhead) has suffered great pain watching his beloved Saints fail time after time, so he lays @@@@ on a team that has had some recent success? Piss off you knob jockey and stick your trolling to Bigfooty.
