Article in The Age where Paul Roos says in retrospect Luke Ablett had the flu and probably shouldn't have played. Explains his bad game and maybe explains why Ben Cousins had 38 possessions.

I wish he'd played with the midfield on Sat night.
What does this say? that our reserve stocks are that low that we have to play someone with the flu against a player known to play himself to constant vomitting.

Explains why he started on the bench. I assumed that when he came on at the same time with Cousins he was going to run with him - if that was the plan it was pretty stupid given Ablett's condition.Comment

They probably had colds rather than the flu.
Agree about the lack of pressure on Cousins. He's a great player but shouldn't have been allowed to have that many possessions with so little pressure.Comment
