I think liz was referring to whether he could end up playing 100 games with us.

Jury is still out for mine, and the fact he's on the rookie list and ineligible for the rookie list next year could work against him.

Finding a 100 gamer means finding someone likely to play that number of games - or more - for the club.

How many they've played to date is irrelevant - except that you would expect to see slightly more from a 22yo with a strong body who's already played 20 games than you would from a still slight 19yo on debut (eg if you're comparing Brennan's first game for us with Jack's).

I reckon they'll keep him. Not that he did anything amazing last night, it's more that he seems to have that real "bloods" spirit, tries really hard without acheiving much.

He looks like Kirk from afar, never really noticed that until last night when both were on the same field.

I thought you meant he had played 100 games.

We were pretty impressed with his speed a couple of times, he was able to accelerate very quickly to pick up opponents or fill space and still get back to his own man. He didn't do it a great deal when he had the ball (he didn't have it a great amount of the time!) but around the ground he did look quick for someone his size.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

                2003: Brennan #8 - TBD
2001: Graham Poloak #4 - TBD but showing promise (also: Richard Cole #11 - failed)
2000: Andrew McDougall # 5 - failed; Daniel Motlop #8 - TBD but finally showing some promise
                1999: Fiora #3 - so-so; Leigh Brown #5 - OK; Cupido #6 - failed; McPharlin#10 - good

So hit and miss really - bit like the draft itself!! No striking success stories tho Motlop could still prove a bargain for Port.
                2003: J McVeigh #5

I agree, it wasn't as if the ball fell into his arms 10 times. When he took possession he seemed to be in the right place most of the time. He looked like he had a natural flow about him. If he had kicked the 2 goals people would be spruiking his talent. Remember Phillip's first game when he missed a couple of absolute sitters and people found plenty of excuses for him.

I think your last point is an interesting one. We can always make excuses for our favourites, but if one of the "lesser lights" in our eyes, does something wrong, there are calls for his head.

I liked Brennan's debut - he looked like he slotted in to the team as if he had always been there. He kicks like Jude.

I think my favourite play of the night was after Brennan shanked the shot on goal, then from the resulting kick in he ended up with the ball in space and instead of taking another shot he passed off to Hall who goaled. I thought it was a mature decision, in a game that was blowing out like that I think most people would have forgiven him for having another go, you could tell by the reaction from his teammates that they all appreciated it as well.
