No different how any fans of any side would treat a returning champion.

I don't have an issue with that, however, the way the commentators went on about it was way over the top.

I hope, for Cousins sake, that he is beating the drug problem, but having a number of family and friends working in the Drug and Alcohol rehab field, he has only really made it through detox. He hasn't beaten anything yet. To imply otherwise is simply ill informed.

Agree, his comeback and role in the '06 finals series was just about the only mildly palatable thing about the Eagles winning. It was the feel-good story the media forgot about. Funny how two former Demons each played a part in their new sides' respective premiership wins (Jolly being the other, of course).

Steven Armstrong is still a hack IMO, whether or not he was injured in the Bali Bombing. I believe he was meant to replace Ashley Sampi (who was meant to replace Phil Matera) but he's not good enough to warrant a spot in the Eagles' best 22.

An interesting finding in the third site is this

It was speculated that the Cesium in the first group of patients had mobilized, but had not been eliminated. In order to further study the behavior of the cesium in the body, the following tests were added to the second test protocol:

It was speculated that a significant amount of cesium had been excreted in sweat. Accordingly, Cs-137 content in sweat excreted during the sauna period was measured for the five patients with the largest measured body burden.

Cesium is highly soluble in body fluids, and tends to be retained in the muscles. To determine if the pooling behavior was being affected, five patients in the second group with the highest body burdens had measurments taken of the thigh muscle tissues using

The sampling and counting schedule was also changed in the second group. Three stages

I'm not saying that all cases are the same. But it is more likely than not that the "28 day" programs offered in the U.S. are only detox programs. It is the first step to overcoming addiction, it does not mean that addiction is beaten because you have made it through detox.

As I stated, I hope that Cousins can beat the addiction. Until now he is clean, but is still a recovering addict. Ask any member of AA or NA and they will tell you that they are still recovering addicts. They have to beat their addiction on a daily basis.

The other point I omitted is that the 28 days program will have included the start of learning to beat the cravings etc, and setting up support for an addict. So whilst the detox period may vary, the 28 days allows for the start of education. This will continue as Cousins continues through his recovery period.

I was there last night. He had the ball at one stage on the outer wng & the crowd booed. I swear he stopped deliberately to milk as much out of it as he possibly could.

Well good on him then if he did. If he is back playing football then he and his club AND THE AFL (and me for that matter) think that he should be allowed to play football. If people are going to boo him because they don't think he should be playing and he then makes sure to show that their booing clearly doesn't bother him I really don't see why that should bother you so.

I'm personally not annoyed at the general elation the Weagle faithful feel at having him back, heck it must have been brilliant to have someone of his standard back on the field. I know I would welcome anyone back to the Swans fold.

What I don't like hearing is that he is a hero for making a comeback, or that him being back on the field is somewhat remarkable, it isn't..

Not many people have the opportunity of a massive intervention and employer paid Hollywood style rehabilitation. If he was less important to the side, the Eagles would have cut and run. Once he was suspended, he was always going to be given the assistance and management to ensure he was able to return.

He was a very lucky guy, not many people in society with the same problems would ever receive that type of assistance. Good on him, but I have to agree with the title of this thread, especially after spending the week of his comeback in Perth. Really did make me sick.
