Both Port and North loosing games they were expected to win, opens the door ever so slightly for us to finish top 4.

I don't agree though about North being expected to win in Brisbane - Brisbane are on fire at the moment and while a month ago we could have expected a win up there in 2 weeks time, it's going to be a VERY tough game, especially with Jonathan Brown in the form he's in.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Although some results might fall our way, that still doesn't mean anything unless our players start winning the games that count. Top 4 is only viable if they win at the GABBA, which in my view is becoming less and less certain.
Caution is in order as said by Mike above. If we are not careful we might mis top 8 altogether.Comment

The permutations are doing my head in, but I think there is an extremely good chance that if we win 3 of our next 4 we will finish top 4. As long as the loss is not to one of our fellow top 4 contenders (ie we can lose to Brisbane or St Kilda).
Amazing to think 13 wins can get you top 4.Comment

Dont worry hammo,Leo will be back and Gayrig is out of sorts ATM.As long as we can drag sooky boy up the ground it will help us out alot. What can i say about Jonno he is on fire ATM,but i reckon we can keep him quiet the ones i worry about are Adcock and Brennan. Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Keys to Success
St Kilda: Never played at TS before, lock up midfield wil halt supply to the dangerous Reiwoldt. SK been excellent off halfback, forwards must work hard and entry into 50 needs a 20% improvement on today.
Brisbane: No need to worry about Brown if supply is strangled. Lions fear Sydney, its been a while since they recorded a win against the Swans. Big hearts required at the stoppages because if Brisbane win those, they are faster and the star up forward could crush us.
Collingwood: Eratic form of late. Lucky to beat Carlton. Might just think that they are safe at home. Sydney's MCG record excellent, better that most Melbourne clubs. Must have a strong tag on Dale. Maybe Crouch will be in form by then. Ditto on the fast transition off half back.
Hawthorn: Haven't played on the SCG in ages. Should lose their nerve by Round 22 though can be dangerous. Beat them when we were in poor form. Spida a key for us. Pressure skills will be required as the Hawks hate being under pressure. Well known for their ability to kick and handpass backwards ALL day long.
Why should we lost any of these games? Brisbane will be the toughest one but very winnable. The Pain of Discipline is Nothing Like The Pain of DisappointmentComment

Not true, well "mathematically" yes but due to the log jam at the top you will need 56 point and % to make the top 4. It could actually come down to the last game vs Hawthorn, where a win could put us as high as 3rd and a loss at 6th.Comment

In the 12 seasons past since the introduction of a 16 team/final 8 competition, there have been two instances of teams making to the final four with 13 wins. First, Adelaide in 1997, (who went on to win the premiership); and second, Collingwood in 2002, (who made the Grand Final that year and were only a goal and a half away from a flag)Comment
