I love it that Bevan, Richards and McVeigh all had fantastic games. Even Mathews played great on Harvey.

That'll silence the critics for 7 days. Well done Swannies, you did us proud.

C Boltons was excellent but I have no doubt the game of his life came from Richards. He genuinely towelled up Reiwolt.

Someone said Brennan wasn't sighted, but then again it appeared to me he was on Kosi, who was even more conspicuos by his absence. Will be interesting to see how much time Brennan had on the ground. I think he is going to be a good player for us.

Craig Bolton achieved legends status tonight
Agreed even though for me he was already there. That being said I think that thread that has been going around for a while now saying that our defence would be ****ed if we lost B2 is more worthy after tonight's match. He is our lynchpin in our defence more than any other defensive player at the Swans.

Brennan cleaned up that Saints player that got k/o'ed before Mal's goal

Scratching my head that B2 didn't even warrant a mention in the match report by Fox Sports. Hmm.

Bolts and Teddy's games were fantastic. Gives us a lot of confidence against teams we have to face with power forwards in the finals.

Gerard Healy said it was our gut running that won us the game, how true.

Kirk made a couple of silly errors but he really did star, Buchanan and Schneider were at the fall of the ball all over the ground in the second half, Goodes ran all night but gee he wastes /stuffs up some passes, Fozzie had a gut running second half, Jolly played an outstanding game, Spida was all over the ground and O'Keefe ran himself into the game in the second half.

What a great crowd it was tonight. Took a while to get things going but to get 63,369 tonight was fantastic. That's 3 straight Telstra games with crowds over 62,500 so that assures 4 games there next year. Adds more to our coffers as well considering the SCG reduced capacity.

Still, our entire top 4 aspirations will come down to winning the last game. Provided we beat the pies and lions. If the hawks, port and wce keep winning then it'll make it hard for us to sneak a top 4 position and I doubt anyone can win the comp from outside the top4.

Port, Kangas do play Geelong and WCE play the kangas t'row so that could help. Still need to just keep winning.

                    Thoughts on Schmidt

Schmidt got back in the team tonight and I though he looked very sharp.

Your boy Bevo played well in a game that suited him because the Saints pushed back/flooded which left us with up to 3 spares across back. Bevo was so far clear on his own that he didn't have hope in hell of being run down. But got to say the only thing you might hang on him tonight was letting Milne round around the mark to goal.

True but he looks the goods as a Leo Barry type creative defender. He is a one touch player, strong and is a very good overheard mark.

Yep it was a real all round effort. Our big 3 (hall, davis, magic) forwards only got 2 goals so it was shared around.

We become really promising when the blue collars start working hard. Guys like mcveigh, ablett, fosdike and co.
Schmidt was very good and the twins (amon and adam) were also effective.

                          It's looking good.

O'keefe, Bolton and Malceski for all australian chances!!!

He is always sharp. His clean and accurate kicking to a player is a great asset. He doesn't kick those floaters /floppers/crap that the Brownlow Medallist does.

I thought he looked alright in his short periods in defence.

Thought the ferret might trouble him for pace but Bevo apart from that one lapse of concentration covered him pretty well and plugged the channel as well. Of course having Bolts coming back marking over the ferret a couple of times in the last quarter was a great help
