      Depends on your aspirations.

I'll be barracking hard and loud for the Saints this weekend. If they beat the Eagles, there remains an outside chance of us finishing above our bitter rivals.

If we're relying on the Saints to lose to guarantee a finals spot, we're truly doomed this season. To limp into the finals by losing the next two games would be a disaster.

        What we need

We need to win both games. If we do then we jump both Collingwood and Hawthorn. Then to make the top four we need Port Adelaide to lose both games ( - at Skilled against the Cats and at AAMI against the dockers) or the Kangaroos to lose one game (Carlton TD ha ha, or Bullies at TD -unlikely) or maybe the WCE to lose both (STK in Melb and Ess at home!).

Best chance if PA. Dockers did beat Adel at AAMI a few weeks ago and they're a better side than PA.

My head says we'll finish fifth at best.
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

Unconfirmed reports that Kerr is gone with a ruptured finger for the rest of the year.

While 5th will be hard to make the GF, win our first one at home and Port in Adleaide, Hawks in Melbourne or West Coast (with Kerr out and Judd only 50%) in Perth are all games that the team are capable of winning.

Just need to avoid Geelong before the GFas the only team at present that can beat them are themselves (which is possible come GF day knowing their history).

I can now see your point. With Kerr out probably for the season, and Judd and Cousins under a cloud, West Coast certainly will struggle against St Kilda in Melbourne.

You would have to predict them however to knock off the Bombers in Perth the following week. That said, the emotion of Kevin Sheedy's last game might well lift Essendon to victory.

              So here's the equation:

West Coast back to back wins guarantees a Swans top 8.
West Coast back to back losses (with Sydney winning their two games) guarantees a Swans top 4.

Just need West Coast to beat Essendon in Round 22 in Perth, and come what may we are in the Final 8

If we need to be assisted to make finals, there is little point in being there (and we won't be there for long).

I'd say that chance is gawn.

Lowest we can finish is 9th, highest right now 6th, although that will become 7th if Hawthorn win today. Go Doggies (gawd, I dont think I have the emotional stamina to watch that game and get worked up about the Dogs winning it).

The only way we can get knocked out of the 8 is if Bombers win their final 2 games(one against WC) and we lose to Hawthorn.

I see it but I don`t beleive.I`ll be cheering for WC next week if the Bombers win today.

Cheering for the Evils next weekend would be the most difficult thing I've done all season. I'll be cheering for Richmond today to spare me that trauma next week.

If the Tigers were to win today, then we would be assured a top 8 berth. In fact we will know BEFORE we play next week whether we need to beat the Hawks or not to make the 8

If we in fact are assured a top 8 finish going in to the Hawthorn game, it might be a good opportunity to rest a good number of the boys, give them the extra week break to help get over all the niggles that seem to be plaguing us right now and throw some young fellas into the team and give them a taste of AFL.
