I think yesterday was a classic case of Hawthorn relaxing (despite what was on the line for a win) & just about everything we did going right. Great...but don't get carried away. I haven't looked at the stats but can't believe calls for Crouch to be dropped. Barlow's energy & potential is great but despite what someone else said his decision making is suspect. Speaking of decision making...when will Leo ever learn that everyone knows what he is going to do. IMO we were lucky with several of his attempted runs. Well done LRT...still not clear to me why he wasn't picked weeks ago.
I acknowledge McVeigh has turned it around...but not convinced re Bevan, Dempster yet.
At least we have a chance this week.

You can't seriously believe they are final contenders by the way they played yesterday ... compared to their form all year. I don't know whether their alleged perceived problems had anything to do with it, and if that's the case ... bad timing!!Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I think that is highly unlikely.
Their record in the previous 8 games was 4-4.
Their wins were against the Bulldogs, Richmond, Essendon and Brisbane.
They were destroyed by Adelaide and comfortably beaten by StKilda and the 'Roos.
They're vulnerable to intense pressure.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

In all fairness, they played Sewell and Lewis on Goodes. Sewell was hailed as the best thing since sliced bread earlier in the year for his shutdown jobs. He got absolutely pasted. He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

For 90% of the game Goodsey had absolutely no one near him. It was beautiful to watch.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I can't believe the Dawks would be SO stupid but agree with Annie - their performance was so inept that there were doubts creeping in - quite a few people were discussing it at halftime. Perhaps they were trying to restrict injuries once their bench was down to 2 and Mitchell was playing sore. Crawf didn't stop trying tho' - he's a champ.Comment

It looks to me that the Hawks underestimated us believing the hype told in Melbourne media, after our insipid performance against the Pies, that we were gone. To simply put it they weren't mentally prepared for a tough "pressure cooker" on Sunday.Comment
