That is a shame, he looked in a lot of pain and I imagine it is very upsetting for Luke.

I don't know if we will completely not miss him, would this move Mr McVeigh back into the definite "run with" role list? I thought Luke was a decent matchup for Mr Buckley, Mr McVeigh most certainly isn't.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Will the strained medial ligament impact on
        1. his ability to start pre-season on time? I've only spotted "season"
        2. his trade value? A bit more of a hypothetical there I realize, but if the Jolly talk is true then Luke was one of the folks I was considering as a first team player but (arguably) expendible in the long term who could be packaged with My Jolly.

I saw Buchanan after the game at the chairman's do. Told him that the hit was worth the week and next time he should aim to do more damage. He laughed and said he'd try harder next week.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I'm not too concerned about it either. IMO his best asset is his ability to kick the ball very long, which can be handy if he's marking the ball across half forward.

Even though we ended up winning the 2005 GF that dreadful 4th quarter kick of Ablett's across the face of goal straight to Cousins, who then put the Evils in front, still haunts me. It was probably the most gut wrenching moment I have ever experienced in a football game.

I wasn't sure who we'd drop to get Buchanan back in. This is a load off the selectors' minds.
