How are either of these two things relevant to whether Roos accepts responsibility for things not going right?

Id rather review Roos record over the next 2 years as this is the time any development of players youngsters etc will really become apparent. The core of this player group was via the Eade era and they were playing reserves in the VFL.

Its the next group of players that come through (if ever given a chance) that will make my mind up to how good a coach Roos was.

I said earlier in the year if Roos has the courage to blood new players could be a defining phase for the Swans. You would have to say we failed dismally in this area as Roos stuck with players who where not in form and did not have the courage to introduce/ blood the younger kids.

This year was a disaster not only did we perform dismally we didnt really introduce a core of new players , which is the biggest dissapopintment of all. Roos go look at the Collingwood model as Malthouse not only showed how to introduce youth but out coached you on 3 occasions.

Whatever you say about players not turning up on the day or having little influence on match day is crap. Ive been part of and coached teams that have had massive turn arounds during a game due to either motivational or positional changes during a game. I support Roos but would like him to acknowledge his own shortcomings as a coach at some stage - my opinon only.

      cheers

Very selective NMW.... ..My post was in response to your previous post, which suggests that many other coaches accept responsibility when things are not going well....Obviously I don't agree.. My post about Eade highlighted the fact that all coaches use spin to some degree...To: a) Protect their job. b) Protect their club. c) Protect their players
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

I said "others" not "many others".

If others do, why can't Roos?

If others don't, why does Roos have to follow?

              What a silly comment.

If Roos has stuffed up, he should say, regardless of what other coaches do.

How often do any coaches admit to stuffing up?

Even coaches that accept some blame for poor results, will only do so with plenty of spin attatched.
Classic spin doctors of 2007 :
Numero Uno : Eade ("The bad season we had to have")
2 : Sheedy ( Nearly everything he says is spin)
                          3: Wallace ( Mr Developer)
                          4: Connolly (Mr Verbal diarrhoea)
5)Thomas ("Putting structures in place, moving forward")

                          etc etc etc

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Thomas wasn't a coach in 2007.
