Time has come for all the clubs with the means to afford it to bring back the "real magoos". Maximum list size should be increased to accomodate this, and the pauper clubs who cannot afford it - tough titties. I reckon there would be at least 12 clubs who can afford it and see the benefit in developing their young players.
Playing as a full team agianst the right opposition, learning to cope with the travel etc etc is the correct path for aspiring AFL footballers. ACTAFL and QAFL are not, nor is playing a few in the VFL, SANFL or WAFL. Clubs like Geelong who have kept a full team in the VFL are now reaping the benefits. The wealthier Melbourne clubs have seen this and are jumping on the Cat's bandwagon.
I am staggered that the Swans did not persue entry into the VFL. Or were there conditions (like having to play all games away, or paying travel expenses of visiting teams) which made it not viable?Last edited by Old Royboy; 16 October 2007, 08:08 PM.Pay peanuts get monkeysComment

Fantastic. It will be good for the Vic supporters to see the swans more then 7 times a year. Even if it is only the two's.Comment
