    What hurt more?

So which match hurt more? Last year's Grand Final or tonight.

From my perspective I actually feel more despondent tonight than I did after the Big One last year. The mood at Clarendon Street pizzas was the lowest I have ever seen it. Unlike after the GF where we were all laughing blackly at everything, tonight it was in everyone's minds that we are not only not going to compete & win a flag with the present list but have a rather bleak future to look forward to to be honest, with so many of our stars getting old & several fringe players not coming on.

Last year was like somebody had died in your family. But this year leaves me with a more lasting emotion; one of the futility of things. And of how the world Roos has created for our team has started showing signs of crumbling apart.

I know what goes up has to come down eventually. But the thought of that doesn't leave me with much enthusiasm for the road ahead to be honest.

Time for bed. I'm lucky I'm still awake and sober enough to actually be about to put my thoughts coherently into written form.

Tonight hurts like hell. And I don't see a quick fix any time soon either. People have worked out our game plan. Until it gets changed, we will continue to struggle.

Missing out on Back to Back premierships by 1 point when we were in a very clear position to win will always hurt way way more than last night did for me.

Last night we were simply terrible, that hurts, but when you know you deserve to lose, it takes the edge off, there are no real "what ifs". Just an end to a season that never got out of 1st gear.

        Agree with you 100% JF.

Expect more of the same until Roos decides that HE has had enough and quits. I don't think Longmire is the answer either.

Nothing will hurt more than last years grand final. You lose the grand final by 1 point FFS.

In years to come I will mainly forget about last night's load of crap, but I will never forget that we wasted the opportunity to win back-to-back premierships because we did't turn up until half time!

Last year i went down to South Melbourne the morning after and even though it killed me i was proud of them. This morning i just feel angry and embarrassed for them.

As soon as we thumped Hawthorn last week and knew we were playing Collingwood this week.....I knew we were in trouble.

For some bloody odd reason we just can't get over them. I suppose it's a bit like Fremantle in the early days.

So last year hurt more......this year was just one disappointment after another.

The GF last year was heartbreaking because we were good enough to win it.

Last night's game didn't hurt that much because we simply weren't good enough to win it.

Not to mention the margins and stages of the finals.

Probably hurst more with gf loss, with the way the Swans have played this season not overly surprising they dished up that crap.
