What hurt more?

To me, yesterday didn't really feel that bad because I felt that the season had ended two weeks ago after a similarly inept display.Comment

I think on balance this one hurt more, because all said and done although in the GF we didnt show up till half time, we will NEVER know if the WCE were playing fair and square for all the match, or whether any of them were drugged up.
One thing is for sure, if I were Mick Malthouse or Eddie, I'd make sure te AFL drug testers were at Subie before and after Friday night's match.
Last night we just were totally awful, very reminiscent of the days when we used to make the finals only to put in lame performances and exit round one. What we can be sure of is that that ethereal "Bloods" charter, or whtever you want to call it, is DEAD."Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."Comment

For mine, they both sucked, but differently. Last year for me sucked because I had awesome seats sitting right in front of the foul-mouthed Eagles' entourage who were giving us so much stick for the first half, then had to admit we were pretty decent in the second half. I was upset, but got over it pretty quickly, because I was still stoked about winning 2005 so having at least one lot of Premiership memorabilia was a consolation of sorts. Sure back to back would have been beyond words, but I was happy to take one, and looked on to 2007.
Last night was just embarrassing though - we were never really in the contest, despite the 10 point half-time margin, and the players just never seemed switched on to the fact that they were playing for their season. We've seen that time and again this year - against Brisbane, against the Pies 2 weeks ago - when a team gets to that stage, you wonder what's left to do with them. I hope Roos uses his 8 weeks to figure it out though, because if they play the way they did last night for most of next year, we'll be taking a very early draft pick, that's for sure!Comment

season 2002 , we said good bye to shwatta, kel and dunks and plugger made a comeback that lasted 3 games. all those close losses and the capitulation vs geelong.
then throw in the n melb loss in 04 at the scg.
whats worse abt the loss last night is that the season is over and its 6 mnths to 08, and the knowledge we have more pain ahead, and all because roosy said we dont have to rebuild yet.
the thing that hurt me most about last night was watching the young collingwood kids carve us up, and throw in that ex swan rocca and their champion buckley.
a lot of what hurt more to comeComment

Last year despite being shattered I at least could hold my head up high & say to anyone in the face that I was proud of team & players.
Just the overwhelming emotion I feel today is one of shame & embarrassment. I love my club to death. But today I'm ashamed to be a Swans supporter.
And that the near future is going to be filled with
-more Roos cliches & platitudes
-few young players getting a go
-Roos still sticking by his golden boys
-little depth
-2nds players not getting tested
-a rather nasty slide down the ladder
I look forward to the future with the same attitude people do when they are having teeth removed at the dentist.

No banner-making, no Clarendon Street pizzas, no nothing until next April. Am going to miss that crazy to be honest.

I can guess what that was actually meant to mean, but the comparison of losing a game of football to losing someone close to you (whether a relative or a friend or whatever) is really disturbing!Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
