So we are allowed to be insulting now?
Judd is old. He body is old and worn after playing two VERY HARD years of football (2005/06). He's been playing on half a tank for the last four months.Last edited by NMWBloods; 10 September 2007, 01:25 PM.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Judd is scary. Clearly hampered on Friday but still managed to kick a couple and create opportunities. What a freak! Imagine he and Goodes in the midfield? OMG!
I have to agree with Annie on the looks - since he went the Nbr 1 in 2005 he looks much older and hardened - had a pretty @@@@ty season as well in terms of captaining a club with all the massive off-field drama. Interesting to hear the rumours of Cousins retirement - would make the West Coast desperate to keep him and was wondering if this was one of his terms and conditions for a new contract? I've heard many rumours about how pissed off he was with Cousins last season and this.

That would make an interesting thread on it's own.

I heard it on Fox Sports news last night - those two dills who host it were talking it up. Purely speculation on my part about the Judd contract connection but I have heard from a number of sources in the west (not sure how connected) that Judd has been po'd (for you Vic) with Cousins, Chick and the club since mid last year with the handling of Cuz/Chick off-field behaviour.Comment

Annie, Judds problem is the same as Bazza's, they are being played injured, and the coaches should get a kick in the bum for doing it. Either that or the AFLPA should have some balls about when an injured player should or shouldn't play.
Playing injured is a lot different than playing with half a tank.
When I say he was playing on half a tank, I mean that he is playing injured, i.e. not up to his full capacity.
Re the coaches getting a kick up the bum, that's what I was discussing with a friend the other day. It is irresponsible for the coaches to play the players injured (i.e. Blind Barry). Where is the occupational health and safety in that? Sure, they're insured for injury, but that doesn't mean they should (or could) be making matters worse for the players.
The worse a new injury is (to a player already playing injured) the longer the recovery. It's not fair to the player or the supporters.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

They should have left Hall out of the side to play against Collingwood
Why play him when they could have gotten someone else who was fully fit to play for him
This was a ridiculous decision to play him as he was a clear liability on the night
When they left him out they had other players to go to ie Davis Okeefe and Oloughlin who were fit
The Swans selection committee should be shot for this.If Kennelly was only half fit then why not play him as well
I blame the Swans selection committee for this balls upComment

Elite players want to play through injury to help their sides make the finals. Judd by all accounts needs an operation that would end his season but he wants to keep playing. Mid season, Hall wouldn't tell the coaching staff the extent of his injuries.
For the non-elite players in the AFL, you have 2-3 years to establish yourself, and sitting out half a season to get over an injury while others take your place could be the end of your career as an AFL player."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

Judd looks old (and he's been around forever) - that's why I was assuming he was a lot older than 24.
FFS, even I look younger than Judd.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
