Hall - 2008 will be a very telling year. We can forgive him because he's been injured all season, and clearly there's something going wrong upstairs, but by the end of next season, we'll know whether he should be given the boot, or locked in until he retires.
Leo Barry - The only way he can legitimately claim a spot in our starting 22, is if he's taking the 3rd or 4th best forwards. Throwing him to lions by giving him assignments such as Rocca, Lloyd or Lynch, is laughable and embarrassing.
Mathews - He still has a role to play, if only until Schmidt or DOK make consistent inroads, then he'll be lucky to hold his spot.
O'Loughlin & Davis - I don't know what to make of this combination, because in some ways they're too much alike, but on the other hand they could compliment each other, if our midfield group would give them more direct chances with cleaner delivery into the forward 50. The best scenario for me would have Davis coming out of the goal square, and MOL playing as the crumber/goal sneak.
Dempster - Personally i think he'd be more dangerous as a player who rotates between wing and HF, and not as a running HB. We have Kennelly doing that job very well, and Barlow could assist him if he keeps improving like we're all hoping, freeing up Dempster to do what he does best, driving the ball 60-80 metres down the ground, into the goal square.
Thoughts on this list or players who i've left out?
