    Daniel Kerr

Forget about Chris Judd, Matty Lloyd or Didak... if the Swans want to go after a big name in trade week it should be Daniel Kerr.

I think West Coast will almost certainly look to strengthen their forward line this year to keep pace with Geelong and Hawthorn - the two sides most likely to be challenging them in the next few years. The Cats and Hawks both have great forward lines and will only get better in the next few years; West Coast have a very inconsistent Lynch and Hansen who is decent but not a world beater.

West Coast has great midfielders and more coming through such as Priddis. It's possible that West Coast will sacrifice one of its gun midfielders in a trade if it can land an All Australian forward to help build their dysfunctional forward line around. They may also have salary cap pressures if and when they re-sign Judd. This is where the Swans can come in.

A win-win trade in my view is:

A straight swap for O'Keefe and a second round pick, or less likely, Grundy and a first round pick (on traded to WC from the Jolly trade).

I know it will be hard to part with O'Keefe, a club favourite, but our midfield would improve 300% by having Kerr in the middle with Goodes, Spida and Malceski. Overall, both clubs would benefit.

ROK may also enjoy playing deeper in attack and being on the end of a midfield which can actually deliver the ball cleanly.

If there is one area we can afford to let a player go, it's our forward line with Hall, MOL, Davis, Schneider currently there and possibly Grundy to step up.

It probably won't happen, but in my view the Swans would be mad not to explore it.

Hammo sorry to tell you mate this time your not spot on,Kerr is a good player as to is ROK but he(Kerr) is a little turd.IMO we have more chance getting Judd, you are right in one aspect the wegirls have plenty of mid field talent and they do need to strengthen their forward line. But the Swans will never let ROK go IMHO.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Why is Kerr so terrible? Sounds like a good idea to me.

Fletcher is the midfielder they will shop around at the end of the year.
Keep O'keefe he will be the lynchpin of our forward line for years to come

The only reason i disgaree with this trade is because i believe O'Keefe will possibly be our most important forward in 2-3 years, when Magic and Hall are gone, so where's the value in trading him? We could however give them Davis and our first pick. A dickhead for a dickhead

Lockett, Hall and Spida were no cleanskins when they joined the Swans.

That's probably why the Swans won't trade him, unless Jesse White is seen as a genuine prospect.

What we should do of course is use the Jolly trade to 'trade up' our 1st round pick to a top 5 selection and go after a young forward in the Roughead / Franklin class. e.g. trade Jolly and our pick 11 for pick 3-5 (Richmond, Carlton, Dogs) and their second rounder (17-20).

That's just a normal young bloke out with his mates.

I think all 3 would be offended by that, especially Hall and Lockett. Barry & Plugger were terrible with anger, suspensions etc when playing, off the field they never did anything wrong. I can't recall either getting on the wrong side of the law, taking horse steroids, associating with the underworld, assaulting taxis and their drivers etc.
