Sorry, but I'm going for the Pies tomorrow night. I'm sick and tired of the love fest surrounding all things Geelong in the media and the AFL, I much prefer Pie supporters to Cat supporters and I think it would show what a joke the AA is, if half the AA team get defeated by a team that had no one good enough to even be selected in the squad.
I then hope that on grand final day, the Power come out and kick their black and white butts from one end of the MCG to the other and the cup stays out of Victoria for yet another year!

I'm going for the Pies. It would be awesome to see a team make the GF from 6th.

I'll be diplomatic & say that it doesn't matter where the Swans fans are from. It just matters that he/she remains passionate & true to the colours!

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Spot on Jewels. I'm supporting the Pies as well.

Actually, I'm not bitter. If I were, I would be going for Geelong. I don't even dislike the actual Geelong Football Club.
But, as wonderful as this team is, I don't believe they are as good as the 2000 Bombers team was and yet the media, commentators and the AFL itself carry on like they are the greatest team to ever have played the game and that is more the reason for my loyalties this weekend, to "stick it up them" so to speak.
I also dislike (with great intensity) Geelong fans and find them decidedly unpleasant. On the other hand, I have attended every Sydney V Collingwood game for the last six years and have never had a problem with any of Collingwood supporters win, lose or draw.

People keep talking about how much the media is raving about Geelong and I really haven't see it, except in the context of this year. Seems a very strange reason to barrack for Collingwood.

As for Geelong fans, every team has bad fans.

That because the media has had no reason to rave about them in years other than this one

That said, they're making up for it.

I dunno - all the papers seem to be banging on about the pies - even Luke Darcy says "do it for Bucks" - WFT !!! Geelong havent won it since 1963 - its their time and I hope they come through - their players deseved their AA selections - like it or not they are the form team.

Yeah, they're raving about how well they've done this year and they have. So what. I haven't seen any comments that they're the best team ever though.
